Cop shoots up 335i due to Burble tune.🤦🏾*♂️

Driver was speeding resulting in being pulled over by police.
While pulled over the drivers car backfired burble tune. This caused the officers to open fire seems like out of fear. Thankfully for the driver he came out of this with just 1 bullet in the hand. Also there was no gun in the car. The driver never shot anything.

Fucking cops acting like complete idiots as usual. To afraid to do their jobs properly always have to resort to shooting. And as usual, so many people will bootlick and defend the cops and never hold them accountable.

EDIT: And before I get shit on for my comment, I went through the legal system because of police's stupidity and I lost. Police lied in court but to the eyes of the law, a police officer never ever lies and is always right..... They are all the same. Police no longer have my respect, they must earn my respect as most police officers are not good and they always get corrupted by the majority of bad officers that are in the force.

Columbus GA Police stopped 335i with Alabama plates going 100 MPH in a "CONSTRUCTION ZONE". That's NOT your 10MPH "over the limit" speeding. Reckless Driving/ perhaps Felony most places. Look at damage on rear of 335i: bumper & sheet metal. Don't say what it took to stop him. Look at window tint. Hispanic name of 26-y-o Driver of 335i. All uniformed personnel shown in photos are WHITE. LOTS for GBI to "Unpack" here.

GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) is conducting Investigation of entire incident. Anyone REALLY concerned about what ACTUALLY happened will, I'm sure, follow-up on this and get that Report.

What part of the "Human Condition" don't we understand?

Why are you claiming 175 MPH It's 100 MPH

And no, it's clearly for their medical bills.

Unfortunately in most cases, police investigate themselves and find no wrong doing unless society makes enough noise. An officer who potentially killed due to their dangerous stupidity will go on and cause another potentially dangerous situation for another fellow citizen in the future. And as usual, police refuse to take accountability when they know they're in the wrong.

That's about 15 over the prevailing speed in that area*. And that whole stretch is a permanent construction zone, as has 20 been since 2016. Even if they aren't working on it.

*Not BSing. You dont start getting points in GA until 15 over, so everyone just goes 14-15 over. And if you want a laugh we have a "super speeder" law that adds $200 to any ticket. Guess what speed it is: 85 on highways. So you can get 2 points (the minimum) on your license AND get an extra $200 fine for going 16 over on a rural interstate.

I don't have the balls to do what we ask our LEO to do, so ill not judge this until more facts come out. Police are always on edge because a lot of traffic stops turn into gun fire exchanges. Did the police profile the driver? They sure did; he was driving 100 MPH in a construction zone. Do that in Virginia where you and I live, and it will not end well for you. Lol.

Note to driver, turn off the effing car next time.

I count 18 shots fired.

Makes you wonder how many LEO were present & how many fired weapon.
Actually, one of the photos showed "Spin-out" Front Bumper Guard on Police SUV, and 335i photo appears to me to show impact damage to Right-rear bumper cover, left trunk lid, and probably to Tailpipes.

All that makes one wonder if he actually had "Custom" Exhaust, OR if CPD "Re-arranged" his exhaust by rear impact. Hope CPD vehicles had functional Dash-cams.

GBI has a LOT on their "Plate" in their Investigation. I realize LEO has to be concerned for their OWN personal safety these days when so many folks carry guns (more guns than people), and people have tempers/ other "Limitations". That appears equally-applicable to LEO in this case.

Don't see anything meaningful being done in US in my (limited) Lifetime about that issue. LOTS of "Can-kicking". First Steps in "Problem-solving": 1) Admit there IS a "Problem"; 2) Identify the "Problem". Folks in this country have NOT reached significant agreement on EITHER of those.

According to the Georgia Car Law site max speed limit in the state is 70 mph (physically divided highway).

I'm late to the party on this thread having just come here from the thread where someone wants pops and bangs on their N52. In this case I wish the police only applied holes to the drivers dme or exhaust because pops and bangs deserve to be killed.

People here don't understand GA and their silly construction zone revenue generators apparently. Construction zone has nothing to do with keeping workers safe. Put barrels and a construction zone signs on a 4 lane divided interstate for 30 miles and do NOTHING for work for years and rack up that sweet sweet cash. I think you can pay on the side of the road even.

Some areas at certain times in GA driving 70 means you're damn near a stopped car on the road and an obstacle to other drivers.
My wife just got back from Alberta and said driving 100k/hr for 4 hours in a rural road felt like walking pace coming from FL.

Unfortunate, but at the same time, what do you expect? Cop lives are threatened regularly, they need to be ready to react.
No different in principle than pulling out a BB gun that looks real. This is noise that sounds like multiple gunshots…. Of course there may be return fire.

Sincerely hope it doesn’t take more extreme cases to get rid of this stupid fad on burble tunes, but maybe people will start to realize why people take such issue with it.

Literally around the corner from me here in God's Waiting Room, FL, a deputy pulled over a car for blowing a red light late at night. As the deputy was walking up to the driver's door, the guy shot him point-blank through the window and sped away. Thankfully, he was hit in the vest and survived - at that range the guy could have blasted him in the face. And they got the shooter.

And people wonder why the cops are nervous and trigger happy in a country where every other wingnut is armed. You are spot on - if your car can randomly make a sound like gunfire, shut the g-d thing off.

I have three cousins who are cops - I prefer they come home every night.

I didn't mean to start a gun rights debate, I was just trying to amuse our fellow E90 Post members.

When I get pulled over at night out in rural Virginia (no street lights, so it is very dark), I turn off the engine, open the window, and place my hands on the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock. I don't move until instructed by the Officer. I'm usually speeding and deserve to get pulled over, so why aggravate the situation more. If I don't want a ticket then I shouldn't speed. Not a hard concept.

These days the Police have instant data and cameras that read license plates, so the Speeder in this case may have had a record that had the LOE on alert. Who knows. I found the incident amusing. I understand this incident took place at 8AM, but still...
