Febi ATF?
Hi all,
Car is an 06 330xi with GA6HP19Z AT transmission. I'm getting ready to do the 2nd oil and pan change. The first was done with ZF Lifeguard 6, but browsing the net I found Febi fluid Part #: 83-22-2-220-445-M36 less expensive. It does say it's equivalent to Shell Shell M-1375.4. which is the ZF. Does anyone have any experience with Febi? Thanks, Dave4 |

After 2 months of using the Ravenol ATF I thought it would be appropriate to update this thread. The car was down for 1 week back in November due to a bad starter. After fixing the starter and taking the car to a test drive I noticed an oil leak under the car. It was significant but during the test drive nothing acted weird.
It turned out to be the mechatronic sealing sleeve. Let me tell you, it was a PITA to change it on an XI. Changed out the sleeve, filled it up with the new fluid, test drove it and it shifted just fine. I monitored the trans temp with INPA but because of the design of the bottles I was not able to use a pump and didn't get enough oil in plus it made a huge mess. 2 days later I checked the level and I was able to add 1.5 quart. If I remember right all in all was 7 quart. (I had the pan off for 5 days so it was dripping) After 4000 miles its still shifts fine (knock on wood), but I think it will need new solenoids in about 30k miles as there are some rough shifts. (these were present before the new fluid as well) |
