Codes 2c58 and codes 3012 Help
I have a 2012 e92 n55 motor. I’m getting codes 2c58 charging pressure control off as a consequence
3012 exhaust camshaft installation faulty. With the codes present i get a half check engine light. And at start up the rpm rises up and down as if maybe finding correct timing ? |

Seems straight forward, (3012)incorrect installation of
exhaust camshaft which in turn (2c58) is turning off boost pressure to protect car. Fix 3012 If you haven't just installed camshaft wrong you can try to clean sensor, its magnetic so might have shavings blocking sensor, its B6224... https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...i-cou/Dv7Nbrwx Or you haven't installed camshaft wrong and cleaning sensor doesn't work a new sensor is about twenty dollars, part number 13627525014 https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=13627525014 Last edited by TunafishE93; 02-16-2020 at 05:11 PM.. |

I'm going to call BMW tomorrow and check if my car ever had the VANOS bolt recall. If not, I'll probably take it in for the recall work, which I assume means they'll have to set the timings anyway and get a free valve cover gasket out of it. |

Garage just confirmed the timing is out. Recall was done in 2015 but they're going to replace all the bolts as they're in stock at the local BMW dealer and they're not very expensive.
Hopefully the end price isn't too bad, should have the car back this week. |

Total was £320, so really not too bad. Idle is noticeably smoother now compared to even before the errors came up. Been driving an automatic for the past two weeks that I haven't had it so now I'm getting used to having a clutch pedal again. |
