California Registration, holy $hit...
I just got my 2006 Honda Odyssey registration today that is due in July. It went up about $100 this year (to $390). I can only imagine what the bimmer will be. Usually it goes down every year.

Thats what you get in a state filled with people who demand Swedish levels of govnerment support. Its not the Gubernator's fault, its your own damn fault for living in California. Life is gonna take it's pound of flesh for giving you all that nice weather somehow.

Hey Dan, long time no talk...how's the car doing?
My registration is not due until next Feb...hopefully it won't be too high. Speaking of the governor, he showed up at my campus a while back. They closed down the whole lot just for him, made myself and a lot of other students late for class..grr. |

I think I remember seeing somewhere that the approval ratings for CA legislature at the moment was VERY low, and the Governator was similar.
Damn liberals running the legislature, and the idiots who voted yes on the several billion dollar railroad.

When you guys talking about registration, do you mean the tax of the vehicle value or the registration that you are required to pay to get tags for it? I'm confused as to what exactly the OP is describing...in VA, registration is 90 bucks for 2 years for every car, regardless of make and model....however when you first register it, you have to pay 3.5% of the blue book value they use....then after that they start taxing you on property tax, every 6 months they bill you the same 3.5% of the value again...so registering a new 335i i'd have to pay like 1300 bucks in taxes
fuckers

In TX for example, you pay 6.25% sales tax only when you first purchase the vehicle and after that only ~100/yr for registration & inspection combined. As of a few years ago OR was even better - no sales or property taxes on the value of the car and as of '06 you were only paying a little over $100 in fees the first year and then somewhere around $60 a year in fees each subsequent year. Either way, those fees in CA & DC are far beyond what's reasonable for the level of service provided. Last edited by lib; 05-25-2009 at 08:55 PM.. |
