permanently disable engine check light
Is there a way to do it? My 320i smokes when the valvetronic is working (oil passing the valve seals), but if I disable it, the car doesn't smoke at all! The car is more responsive and just feels better to drive... but, I have a huge orange engine warning light on the dash and the thing chimes each time I start it.
Only looking for someone to tell me how to permanently remove the light from the dash, while keeping the valvetronic disabled. Not here for the bla bla bla, so if that's you... DON'T REPLY! If you know how to do it, please throw me a link. I've been looking for weeks. If someone can show me where the chime speaker is too, that would be great. I'll rip it out. It's bloody annoying! Thanks team. |

Your in the wrong section this is the Audio and Entertainment electronics
section. Also you may have to find a Euro Board as there are not 320's in the United States for the e90 series and about 95 percent of the board members here are US based. Depending on the year most chimes will come through the stereo . The only exception is 2006 and it only it some of the cars for that year. This is based on US knowledge BMW may do things different by country. |

When it relates to Engine functions if you want to fix it go the
the General section. You might go to coding though to suppress messages from something non critical but if it's and essential to the car working right seems like a non logical solution. Last edited by ctuna; 05-19-2023 at 11:01 PM.. |
