lol. I can do this and much more through traditional coding. I don't know where OP got this DVD but I'm guessing it was from dvdinmotion.com. Costs $170 for a DVD that's VIN-locked to work on 1 car. You can also get one that will do more than 1 car but of course it costs more, $459 for 3 cars ($153/car). I'm guessing one of OP's friends or something paid hundreds of dollars for the latter and then gave it to him. If the car limit hasn't maxed out yet it probably will soon.

2 possible ways this could be legit: 1) someone reverse engineered the method dvdinmotion.com uses and is now distributing it for free, or 2) someone cracked the VIN limit somehow. If either of these are the case I would be impressed.

I'd imagine BOTH could be done fairly simply by people with similar experience, generally those people would have absolutely no interest in doing either of those with something like this.

I can vouche for Bendercle's coding though I went to him and he made the best of some funky headlights and gave me lots of other neat features I'm already taking for granted. I'll be going back as soon as I install my new OEM headlights.

I can vouch for him doing quality work. I got my OEM xenons installed last night but the member who sold them is being a scumbag and sent me a pre-burnt out bulb and now I'm fighting with him and paypal over that.

Picking up a new OEM xenon bulb today then I'll be going back to bender to get that shit taken care of.

All:

Still no word from the OP. P Perhaps all of the kudos for helping the community
have been a bit 'premature'?

Bendercle:

Are you performing this coding gratis?

fuggedaboudit!

I PMed the OP weeks ago.

No response.

I think we can all now safely assume any free DVD in motion AIN'T GONNA
HAPPEN.

Another forum person offered to perform the s/w modification - $50

If/when I spend the $50 it'll be for the cable to do s/w updates myself, thank you.

^ Yeah I hear ya, I was just wondering who had this downloaded already. I would like to see the ISO and see if I could tweak it to accept another VIN# or get it to work for another car. I thought about buying the cable and programing it myself as well. But I am a little afraid I might screw something up.
