I'm guessing it's not a U.S. car? Other places did get 2010s with the N55.

From memory, the crossover in some EU countries was as early as a build date of Feb or March 2010. It was however later in others.

What threw me off were the Index 12 injectors and replaced turbo. These are things common on the N54 and I've not heard them used in he same sentence as N55, especially the injectors. After a few min of looking, it appears the pre 1/2011 production have different injectors (13647597870)than 1/2011 and up (13537568607), both both are labeled "EU5" in realOEM. I also found this on the Index 12 injectors and they are definitively different than both of the others.

Also, I pulled my injectors (5/2010 production) last year and they looked like the EU5 ones.

Checking in again ... I rolled 159k miles today. 2011 335 bought 10/2015 @ 113k mi. Here's my repair list
- 113k: intake valve cleaning
- 114k: charge pipe
- 118k: clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing (kept stock flywheel)
- 118.1k: Rear Transmission seal; leaked 2 weeks after clutchswap
- 120k: Coolant Expansion tank (leaked at seams)
- 124k: Boost Solenoid (wasn't hitting boost target .. this didn't completely fix it, but did solve the code (2C58)
- 125k: Diverter valve blew and I replaced it with a DV+ .. this fixed the boost target issue
- 126k: HPFP; was able to drive home but car ran awful with misfires on all cyl
- 131k: TPMS sensors; one had low battery causing light after 15 min of driving (changed out with tires)
- 131k: OFHG; found trace of oil residue in coolant
- 140k: shocks/struts & bushings, front wheel bearings
- 147k: Starter; just quit out of the blue
- 150k: precat O2 sensor (2D0D code)

Brakes & Rotors are just around the corner ...

Great info, thanks! When you did your clutch and pressure plate, how did you know that you did not need a new DMF? Did the shop test it?

I found the tollerance specs online and I did what I could with a dual indicator and a sharpie. It definitely wasn't "bad", but with no Luk avail and the BMW at $1k, I thought it was worth the gamble. I did the work myself, so I'm the only one to blame if it didn't work out.

It sucks for sure. Being Rwd definitely helps. Dreading the install process is the only thing keeping me from jumping on a turbo kit.

I had a fried/coworker who let me use their lift. To be honest, though, it probably would have been overall better if I was at my house where i had *all* of my tools and misc stuff. Since then I've dropped the transmission in a Z4 and did it in my garage on jackstands. Really, a lift only makes it more convenient, not significantly easier.

Mods (all mods were performed/installed at about 100,000 miles):

- Pure Stage 1
- Cobb Tune
- VRSF FMIC
- VRSF charge pipe

Not sure who I'm more impressed with, UnkleJoe @ 200 k and counting, or Soden at 36 +. Both have the same car, and year, I've got. About 63 k miles here, Pure 2 and PI. Just did the brake/ clutch flush, and power steering flush.

My car has 57k miles and original brakes going strong. I like your choice of oil. Although i think BMW 0W-30 is a better oil.

My rotors are pretty warped so under hard braking the wheel shakes like a magnitude 5 earthquake. I'm planning on going with blanks and some hawk pads. I was toying with the idea of drilled and/or slotted rotors but I want them to last

OEM on blank, not slotted. I'm on my original rotors at 118k miles. Rotors don't warp, they get pad deposits on them.

OEM not slotted, i am on OEM rotors.. slotted rottors are overrated and not that functional for ever day use. They might provide a bit of better cooling for track.

Okay my bad. I have to buy new rotors soon and the ones that say “oe replacement” on most sites are slotted, that’s why I thought that.

Maintenance:
-Charge pipe blew at 50k an hour after I bought the car lol. $200
-Oil filter housing gaskets and oil pan gasket at 55k under CPO. $50 deductible
-Spark plugs at 60k. $80
-Air filter at 60k. $30
-AT Transmission replaced at 75k. $50 deductible (No real issue other than occasional slipping in 2nd-3rd shifts. With 2 days left of CPO warranty, I took a shot at getting it replaced and they definitely took care of me!)
-A/C Evaporator at 75k. $^ (Once again replaced under CPO warranty as it's a common problem and the A/C wasn't as cold as it was previously, but still not a major issue.)

Total Maintenance Cost for the Year: $410

Aside from oil changes, that's all I've had to do in the last year and a half that I've owned this car. It's been a dream aside from the fact that I really wanted a manual transmission... I continue my search for one that I like.
Updating this old post: 2011 N55 E92 w/ 105,000 miles
MHD E30 OTS tune
ActiveAutowerke 4" DP
VRSF 7" IC with all aluminum piping
BMS intake
GFB DV+

Swapped my trans to an N54 6MT! Finally have the manual I wanted. So that's been fun.

But for maintenance (no more CPO ):
-Switched from BMW 5w30 to 0w40 German Castrol recently and it seems to like it so far.
-Expansion tank started leaking around 90k.
-Shortly after, I broke the tiny coolant hose on top of the radiator (I don't remember why I was messing with it) so I had to replace that. Then when removing that broken hose, I broke the nipple it attaches to on the upper rad hose. So I replaced the upper rad hose too. They were pretty brittle but I probably could have been a bit more careful.
-Radiator came next at 100k miles, cracked on top by the upper rad hose. Florida heat has done a number to the plastics it would seem.

All pads and rotors are about due for replacement
Front shocks are about done as well
Pretty sure I'm slightly leaking boost at the TMAP
Gonna need front tires soon

But that's about it! Still lovin this car.

Yep mine is March 2010 N55. Just ticked onto 72000 miles. No mods, just a bit of a brake upgrade.

Will the N54 6MT fit all E90 335i’s? Also how much was labor and how difficult was the coding?
