Tried that yesterday - same file I was using before, maps 2020-2. And it worked like a charm .

So the whole thing with getting cable, ESYS, DE file was worth it.
Thank you very much guys for the time you spent explaining this stuff. You are doing awesome job for us... newbies.

Hi guys. I can't load a map on my E91. I managed with no problem to pull 1b.hex, then I generated a code for WEST EUROPE MAP 2020-2. Easy.
I downloaded a map from gps power: 5 files. I put all 5 file on USB (formatted fat32) but when I plug on glove box, nothing happens. I tried to uploaded on usb one by one but it's the same... nothing... I don't understand where i'am wrong.
At the top of the image ther is a folder where i downloaded maps, then I extracted part1 in the USB (at the bottom). this folder has been created "root", and inside there are many others folder. Is it right?

The root of a drive is the "highest" or "top" level of the drive (the start of a folder structure).

In your screenshots, the root is the name of the USB (ie. STORE N GO, or F: drive).
You do NOT need the root folder. Delete the root folder and then copy the files to the USB again.
Copy the 2 items: pkgdb (folder) and config.nfm (file) to the top-level of the USB.

Thanks for good and clear advice. Still I got a "slight" problem. I plugin the USB stick, in the glove compartment, with the extracted maps on the root. My car doesn't read the files. I have triad both 2018-1 and 2019-1. Any advice?
Okay, my bad. Didn't obviously read all postings. I had the folders on the stick too.
Important to know is: pkgb folder and config.nfm are the parts to be copied to the root! Thanks bcoz

If you used the same USB stick, then I'd suggest to try a different USB stick.

Also, make sure the ignition is on before you plug the USB in.

Is the reason the b1 script won't work for me is that I have Firmware C08? I have the check mark with the 'i' in it in the bottom left corner, as almost every post in this thread says is necessary.

I've tried 3 different USB sticks, but only 2 of them can actually be formatted to Fat32, I had to use exFat on the other, still no love.

I've tried doing it sitting in my driveway waiting for as long as 5 minutes, and I even tried doing it while I drove around for a ~12 minutes, nothing will work for me. I don't have any more USBs to try. What's my next move? [Edit]Ignore the next 2 sentences, I found it here.[/Edit] Is there a way to manually extract the 1b file from my system? I can't find a thread that explains it if there is. [Still] Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first photo shows the check mark and 'i', the other 2 are only in case they help. I know those software version don't have anything to do with CIC firmware, though. As I said above, mine (according to NCS Expert) is C08.

I've gotten my 1B file, it was the right size, and the generator gave me a key, now all I'm waiting for is the maps to download which is taking forever...is 2018-1 really the last update we can get for CIC based systems?

No US 2020-1 is the current release for CIC.

It is working fine.

Still having no end of trouble trying to get my system to recognize a USB. Is there a DVD based 2020 update? Every torrent I can find is for the USB version.

The multi USB key release should be exactly the same as what you would see on the DVD.

I don't know if your car would accept the update on DVD but you could try burning the files to a DVD in a closed single session non-packet writing format. (Note the format is very very important).

You could refer to one of the older multi usb releases to see how the files are grouped on the DVD/USB if you are using the single USB key download.

The two files on the root are the same on each USB key or dvd. Only the contents of the sub folder differs and the CIC seems to deal with that.

Hello, guys. I cant get 1b file. Tried a lot of usb sticks and different formats.
Downloaded the maps, put them in to usb, but my CIC doesnt see the update. When i insert dvd it sees the update, but i dont have the fsc.

Is it possible that the firmware is too old?

I used this thread to get it manually and it worked perfectly. Ignore the post about the corrupted 1b file if yours looks like the photo shown, it's how mine looked and I was still able to get my lifetime FSC code from it. Follow OPs instructions to the letter, and it will work.

The script will not work on your car as per the very first post.

You can use the enet cable technique instead.
