So, I had some fun at a Drifting Event

But I wasn't drifting the track.

Skidpad:

Solo Session:

Some guys were filming me when I was doing the dry circles around the skidpad and made some smoke with my poor open diff. I'll link for sure when it's up.

I didn't get faster than six months ago, but luckily I didn't get any slower either!

Supposedly they are and supposedly that's why you develop mad skills with them. You should be able to do it, just a couple more late night tofu delivery runs...

I've actually driven a Levin before (fixed headlights)...I can't remember AE85 or 86, it was a friend's car. Never pushed it though.

I blame lack of power steering, the car wanted the wheels to point straight so bad. I only had 5 mins with it though, another 5 and I would be owning it.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

The car is a 2005 330i ZHP. I have suspension, tires, and weight reduction.

Nice.
'Your vid actually reminded me of this Porsche club of America autocross event I went to a while back... there were like 2 guys in 330's (one coupe, one sedan) that were just beating up on everyone's times. Given they probably had more experience, but it was certainly cool to watch.

PCA guys are fast! Or at least, I've heard. I'll be running with them in May at VIR, and hopefully, I won't get left in the dust!

Nice vids. You had several nice recoveries in that second one all on the same turn. Was it wet through there or is the pavement slick?

Lots of open track. Looked like lots of fun.

It was a drift event, so there was basically mud EVERYWHERE. They couldn't clean it up or anything, so they just sent us solo folks out to fend for ourselves.

Let me know, when you go. I'm trying to hit all the Shenandoah events this year. SVT club has one May 3-4, I believe. The biggest one (all my friends are going at least), is the one with Trackdaze two weeks after the SVT one. www.trackdaze.com.

Although I had similar times in my posted video as I did during my time attack last year there, it's not nearly as clean (although it may have been faster, if there was no mud and wasn't as cold).

Here's are cleaner laps of Shen (clock starts at the main straight):
