I have to chuckle when I see the constant whining about Dinan's prices. No doubt their products are pricey...

Last time I checked, BMWs aren't too cheap either.

Come on, are you serious ? Does anyone here think that Dinan LSD is pricewise comparable to Quaife ? I am 99% sure that the 3.5k + tax is the price, BUT they will keep your original diff.

So OP: what kind of LSD are they putting into your car this friday? Is dinan offering a clutch based LSD? 1/1.5/2 way?

The m3 came out soon after which i didnt know was coming out. I would have easily bought the new m3 over the 2007 335i but i am happy with the 335i and im modding it because my next car will be much better then the new m3.

I paid in full and did not lease my 335i. I plan to keep the car for a while as a beater car to go around town when i get my next upgraded car to drive!
That's my exact point. Why not just sell the 335 and pick up the M3 which you clearly prefer? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for modding, but when you reach a certain price point, a vehicle upgrade makes more sense... at least to me.

First off I don't buy a car as an investment decision I buy a car to enjoy. So all my mods I've done I don't expect a return for them. Secondly resale vale right now is horrible for a 335i and especially if you modded it. So for me to sell my car for a new m3 is not a wise choice since I can Juss save my money to buy a better car than the m3. My next car will be in the 130,000+ range so no need to buy a m3 once again.

LIke I said before I don't lease I pay in full.

You bet. Buying a naturally aspirated car when BMW is moving in the forced induction direction would not be a good idea. Stick with the 335i !

Some people (like me) prefer the challenge and fun in upgrading what they already have. With what I've spent in my car I could of gotten an M3, sure. But the fun factor is lost in tuning. This is why people tune their cars. And in my opinion, tuning a turbo car is much more fun than an NA car.

Update:
The Dinan LSD is 100% the same as the quaife LSD. I'm not sure how much quaife themselve are selling it for individually, but Dinan is selling it for $3,500 retail+labor+tax. So, Dinan just puts their name on the Quaife product and is cover under Dinan's warranty.

This is what the Dinan representative told me.

Nice!!! Do you think they just Paint OEM M3 Sway bars "BLUE" Double the cost and cover under warranty as well??? They seem like the same specs and all....

The price is not bad for the LSD though. That means we can leave a "set" for real instead of one lonely one!
