Installed JB+ and painted calipers and I'm getting a AWD/DSC light!

What's up with this.....
I just installed a JB+, by the instructions.... and painted my calipers with the brush on G2 epoxy paint. I'm now getting an AWD/DSC malfunction alert on my 335xi E92. Any ideas? I can't see how the JB+ would affect the AWD system. I also can't see how brushing a little paint on the calipers would either, unless I bumped something..... that I don't remember. Could it be the fact that I had the battery unhooked for the JB+ install?

Please help!

You hit something or painted over something you weren't supposed to.

It's not the JB+ for sure.

I definitely didn't hit anything hard enough to damage it. Painting over something....that's an interesting thought. I can't believe there'd be anything that susceptible to being covered....heck, mud, salt, snow or any number of things is way more intrusive than anywhere I can get with a brush.....

I still think is has to do with having the battery unhooked. I seem to remember a similar issue when I unhooked the battery to disconnect my airbag for a steering wheel swap. It went away on it's own. I just can't go for a drive yet because my calipers are wet.

its the battery disconnect, you need to drive for a short distance and above i think 20mph for everything to self test and reset.

Gloss Black....on my Montego E92, subtle but nice.
I used red on my denim blue Audi TT, looked great at first.....but was hard as hell to keep looking nice after a few years. I'll post some pics up as soon as I have a chance to wash the car.

Turning the wheel all the way to the left and right once will do the trick too. Same with triggering the ESP warning after a battery disconnect on a Benz.

i think he needs to do both. the steering wheel lock to lock resets the steering angle sensor. the run up to 20mph resets the wheel speed sensor. either will cause the DSC light to come on.

Interesting. I had to disconnect the battery to change my steering wheel and the only light it triggered said something like 4x4 on the screen which turning the wheel cleared up. I wonder what dictates which systems get reset with a loss of power...

either way, a quick spin around the block will fix it

You probably need to reset your TPMS as well if you took off the wheels to paint the calipers.

To keep them from looking like shit in 1 years time. I want to do the same, and black is the best choice. Red just looks over the top on a BMW unless they are some BBK.

Turn the steering wheel lock to lock twice and drive around the block. That should clear it up.
