BG products

I've searched all over the boards and I have not seen anybody using BG products. Im sure alot of you have heard of BG, they are famous for there flushes and MOA, MOA is an additive you put in your oil at every oil change. Its a suspension fluid that

My questions are.
1. Does anyone use MOA in there N54 on this board, and if so how do you like it?

2. Has anyone tried the power steering flush?

3. Has anyone tried there trans flush?

Heard of all BG products, but never tried them. A few of their cans look like soda cans.
I simply don't put anything that the manufacturer does not recommend. So, until BMW tells me to, I won't.

So I haven't personally used BG products in my home garage, but I've had a small sampling of their use however. Waaaay back in the day, when my wife (GF then) was driving the E30 and she took it to a BMW indie in Rockville, Maryland, Autoy, for service, he used to use BG oil treatment when he changed the oil. My wife only took it there twice before I started on the maintenance on the E30. Autoy said the BG oil treatment was extra additives for the long drain periods - back then everyone used non-synthetic oil. Not sure if it did any good or not.

Recently, I had a local mechanic near to me where I live now, run a BG products induction cleaning service on my '99 F-150 that was running like crap. The old Ford 4.2 V6 gets a similar problem to today's direct injection engines where carbon builds up on intake parts because no fuel (with detergent in it) ever touches them. On the 4.2, it has dual intake runners and the butterfly valves that control the intake tube length get carboned-up and need to be cleaned. The service costs about $100. The cleaning has really improved how my old truck runs; I had the service done about a year ago. I've looked into to getting the kit myself; it costs a few hundred dollars (you need shop air for it), but BG only sells it to professional shops from what I understand.

I also have a work colleague that had a BG trans flush done on his old Saab 900 ragtop about 2 years ago. It's made the trans shift a bit better according to him.

I have never used MOA but have used a few different BG products. They were on non BMW vehicles however.

44K fuel treatment I have used numerous times but have no solid proof that it does what it claims. I can say that my 03 Corolla with over 113,000 miles was treated with it about every 15k and consistantly returned 35 MPG on average and ran as smooth as day one. That same car I had the tranny fluid flushed 2X (30k & 60k)with BG trans flush and the fluid was still pink and smelled fresh at 113,000 miles. It still shifted great and ran like new. Also had a BG radiator flush and brake flush at 60k.

I can't really say if it ran so well because it was a Toyota or if the products helped. I am a FREAK about routine maintenance and did everything I could myself. The other items were done by a very trusted shop that I use. They reccomend BG products and I am friends with the owner. He tells me what he really thinks and if something is BS he usually says so.

Take it for what it's worth but to me I like their products.

Read this article by Bob the oil guy, http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...Number=1355086

He and alot of people seem to like it.

With the MOA, I saw the BG rep rub MOA all over his hand like hand lotion then pour a small bottle of acid on his palm, with no pain at all. Before that I saw him take this same bottle of acid and melt a shop rag with ease. When heat and old oil mix it turns to acid and that attacks you bearings. MOA suspends the acid made from that.

BG does have a GDI kit (part #'s 271/272). I haven't used it yet, but I was very happy with the other products they offer.

As far as 44k goes, I think it is best for maintaining an already clean injection system (TBI, MPFI, etc). It gets dilluted with the gas in your tank, so it's not really a direct cleaning service, just maintenance. My two cents, anyway.

Right on. I manage an independent and that's what we use. When I was turning wrenches every day, I saw a lot of cleaing chemical products, but BG was the first one I actually thought worked worth a damn.

have you opened up an engine after use or do you just go by what your service manager tells you to sell...How would you compare the BMW techron product vs. BG?

how old are you, 21? first job out of community college?

All I'm saying in the "douche" comment is that if you're not informed in what you're selling, you should be. What if something goes wrong w/ a customers car, are you going to tell them, "oh i read it on bob the oil guy"

yea i'm a douche, ok

Hey there. I had been having problems with my wife's toyota corolla- loss of power under acceleration and hesitation at start. First I cleaned the MAF sensor, changed spark plugs, and then replaced the pre-cat oxygen sensor- they did help a bit. Then, I remembered this thread and decided to use BG 109 compression restoration- added to engine, let it run under idle for about 20 minutes, and then changed the oil and added some MOA. Just looking at the removed oil, I knew it had done something good- lot of black stuff came off. Put new oil in, and you wouldn't believe what a difference. It runs like new. So, I am sold on the BG stuff now, after experiencing this.
