Anyone on here in Italy?

Please PM me if you're in Italy or have brought a car over there. I have a question about emissions testing/customs, etc.

Picked up my car, failed inspection, clipped my rear passenger fender on a narrow passageway and destroyed my rear rim...so far so good.

If you're looking for a nice scenic drive with smooth roads, be sure to hit up Slovenia if you haven't already. Lots of great cities in Istria, Croatia and with the summer season over... it's a lot more affordable for hotels and Airbnbs.

You won't regret coming down this way. All summer long, motorcycle riders tear through the roads in Slovenia and northern Croatia. So long as there's no rain you'll enjoy it too with the Beemer. I've been in Croatia for two years now. Feel free to PM me if you're looking for any travel tips.

Yeah, I would have been there for the cruise had I not been in the US this past weekend for a wedding. I'll add you to another 'local' group that may be a bit more active than C&C Vicenza.

Hey guys, might consider sending my e90 from NY to Piacenza. Any thoughts on cost and process? There's a lot of info and I'm a little overwhelmed.
Wife is Italian...would like to keep a car here for our frequent visits.

It only cost me $1700 to ship a cover over. That wasn't bad. Insurance here is crazy expensive though. And I didn't have to pay import tax because i work for the US Govt. import tax is 20% of the value of the car from what I understand.

Isn't the import tax for cars less than 1 yr old?

I've got a colleague in Italy, I know he had a BMW at some point, but hell if I know whether he has it now or not. I'll call him and keep you informed if I learn anything useful.

I spent a weekend in Rovinj last month. We had an amazing time!!! Such a beautiful place. We're heading back this weekend. Hopefully Croatia wins the soccer match Wednesday and we can watch Croatia in the World Cup final in Croatia with the locals!
