Need opinion on wheels

Hi guys

Ive been looking for a set of wheels and had pretty much decided on m6 reps. Then i came across these 19 inch wheels going cheap. How do you think they would look on e92?
My car is montego blue and has aero lip and msport side skirts. It is not lowered. All comments welcome

excellent thread.

How much do you like these wheels, 10 being highest? Also what wheels do you currently have?

I would say maybe 6/10 but might think they look better actually on the car. Anyone have a photo of similar wheels on e92?

I currently have 5 spoke star alloys, i think style 189 as in the photo. Please note this is not my photo, just googled it

I was going to say Why not go for 189's......But you already have these. IMO they look much better than reps and really suit e92's

The 189 wheels are quite nice, but for some reason i always think they look better when i see a photo of somebody elses car. Im not really happy with them on my car. Maybe it just needs lowered but id rather not if i can get away with standard height. I dont have much clearance going into my driveway as it is. Not sure if the extra hassle of lowering would be worth it.

I thought a change of wheels would give the car a more aggresive look. I really like the look of m6 wheels. Looking again at the picture of the wheels i posted earlier i think ive gone off them. I was really just tempted by the price.

Im surprised by the number of votes for my 189s. Ok, forgetting about the first picture i posted, 189s or m6 replicas? I feel the car looks too 'standard' the way it is. Maybe ill wait till ive finished the rest of the minor mods i have planned and then see how i feel.

And here is a pic of my car how it is just now.

Prefer your existing 189's, if you want a meaner stance I'd investigated lowering it. Makes a big difference imo

Thanks for that photoshop. I agree lowering makes a big improvement. But i lowered my last 2 cars and regretted it due to the hard ride and scraping the front everytime i go in or out of my drive. Would prefer not to lower it but will look in to a small drop.

Any advice for the best way to lower and keep the ride quality?

How about this for comparison. Hope the owner doesnt mind me using the image.

The ONLY way you will retain a comfortable enough ride quality with lowering is by avoiding springs and going for coilovers with damping adjustability. I have mine lowered on BC coilovers and adjustable damping and you couldn't tell whether you're in an SE, M SPort or a 4x4 (softest setting) lol.

Coilovers are generally much more expensive but not when you compare them to buying upgraded springs and shocks.. at that level, you're already into entry level coilover kits price wise.

Get a drop and buy a decent set of quality wheels (reps or OE) and you're laughing! These are probably the most crucial part of your car so try not to save a few pennies or you may end up regretting later down the line. Those M6 reps look sweet, definitely a winner compared to the other options shown in this thread

Im biased as i bought 189's for my e92. But I think they are by far the best suited wheel. Nice and chunky, yet simple looking. They are easy to clean as a bonus.......Just my opinion.
