Tire Recommendations please
Hello All,
I am at the end of life with my Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position tires on my E90 LCI. I installed them on my car at ~64,000 miles and now about 30,000 miles later they are crying for a change. I have been extremely happy with the performance and life of these tires and I am a very aggressive driver (just short of tracking my car) so I am even more impressed. I wanted to ask the community here for any recommendations of new tires - NON RFT's please. Right now the set up that I have is Fronts - 235/40R-18 Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position XL Rears - 265/35R-18 Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position XL Being an aggressive driver, I need 4 tires that would suit my style of driving, For example - going on to ramps and off ramps on freeways at a speed of 75 MPH and cruising at speeds between 70 mph to 85 mph on freeways, quick accelerations sometimes or for overtaking, etc. (no I am not a dangerous driver...just a fast driver I live in the bay area so no snow but I would prefer tires that can last me in all seasons and perform almost the same in most seasons. Lastly, what do you guys think on going a bit more wider for the rear's at 275 or 285 instead of 265 that I have right now? Pro's and con's that you guys can think of? Thanks a ton in advance folks and I am hoping to get some really nice and good advice. Cheers- S. P.S.: if you don't have any advice related to my question then please refrain from laying crap on this post....please put your time to better use Last edited by samvora; 01-20-2016 at 02:33 PM.. 30,000mi?! I must be doing something wrong, lol! The only real upgrade to your tires in Michelin Pilot Super Sport. If they're outside your budget, I would recommend sticking with the S-04s.

I would recommend something like the Michelin Pilot Super Sport if you aren't so much worried about price. Otherwise, something like the Continental ExtremeContact DW or Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 would be great options. If you want more of an all season tire, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 is probably going to be the best option. All of them are highly rated and will be able to handle your daily driving needs as well as your heavy right foot!

I am going ahead with the PSS so let's see how they hold up. I have been told that they are comparable to the BS S-04 Pole positions so only time will tell. |
