E91 330d Rear Brake Pads
I think I might be due some new pads on the rear soon but looking on ECP there are two choices based on my registration. I have put my VIN in to realoem and got the part numbers for the pads and the wear sensor, but when you search those numbers on ECP nothing comes up.
So my questions are which ones do I need and do I need to replace the wear sensor if it hasn't been triggered yet? My car is a 2010 E91 330d Msport. The last digits of my VIN are - A220007 Realoem part number for pads - 34216775678 Realoem part number for wear sensor - 34356792564 Parts I think might be correct on ECP: |

It's the rears I'm after. Anyway, I have checked the fitment detail and the dimensions for the two choices of pads are different and for the wear sensor it looks like the only difference is the cable length.
On Realoem can you see the specifications of the pads and sensor? If you can that would make it easy, but I couldn't see any. |

For the pads one option says 'With M-tech. The other says 'Without M-tech. With regards to the wear sensor one says 'Up to 3/10' and one says 'From 3/10'. The sensor I'm guessing I may need if I have to replace it is the one I pictured as my car is post 3/10.
I have emailed BMW anyway and hopefully they'll tell me exactly what I need along with the dimensions so I can then compare elsewhere. |

Mine has 336mm as quoted by bmw and measured by myself today. This is turning in to a bit of a ball ache just to source some bloody brake pads!
Bmw gave my this part number for the pads and sensor - 34212288896 and a price of £61. Now obviously I want to shop around to try and get the best deal, so I went back to ECP and gave them that number. This seemed to really confuse them. They found the corresponding Pagid number and then said they no longer supply these for my car! I thought really, it's just a 3 series bmw nothing special, surely they must supply brake pads for my car. Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that the part number that bmw gave me was for a complete rear pad and sensor set and as such ECP don't sell them together hence the confusion. I've now gone back to bmw to get the separate part numbers for the pads and the sensor. Hopefully then I'll know exactly what I need and will be able to go back to places like ECP and see if they're Pagid parts are compatible and so be able to compare prices. Never had this much trouble trying to source brake pads for a car before! |

Yeah that the number I got from realoem. Didn't realise if I'd looked at the brake disc diagram it would've given the disc diameter! Doh!
Looks like that's the ones then and the ones I pictured in my first post are correct. Don't think I'll bother getting them from eBay as I've been stung in the past with fake brakes. Can get them from carparts4less for £43 including the wear sensor or £48 from ECP which is a bit odd considering they're the same company! |
