WRONG! After putting my car into a wall at Heartland Park (Topeka) October of '06, I was fully covered by American Family Ins.
I paid my $500 deductible, they picked up the total cost of the repair, ~9K!

They are afterall, high speed DRIVER EDUCATION events. (This is part of the reason that these events are so strict about making sure you're NOT racing--anyone else or even the clock.)

People may want to check with their own particular insurance company beforehand to double-check coverage. I did, and was told I'd be covered, which I was.
It really depends on your insurance company. Most will cover the event if you are NOT being timed...a timed event like a time trial or official race..or Solo1...would NOT be covered. If you say it is a "driver safety seminar" with inclass instruction..then most will cover you. But, your mileage may vary.

I got track insurance through ProSure. While expensive, and has a high deductible, I think it is worth it. Interestingly, they asked for the date of my next event so they could come watch...odd. Sadly, I have no events planned.

Only had time for two track days after break-in this past summer. It's snowing out as I speak.

No overheating problems.

I ran my 335i in June in 90+ temps during instructors day. Highest oil temp was briefly 265 - the rest of the time it ran a little above 250. Rode with a B student who had a 1.47 Procede, again at 95 degree air temps. No problem as long as you don't try to wind it all the way to redline where AFR goes more to lean, hence hotter exhaust.
