I just had Steven flash this remotely and code a few other things as well. I am very happy with the results and Steven's customer service is top notch!

Have you tried starting over and trying the pdf instructions in the op? It took me a while to get it to work, mainly because I had the wrong files and etc in folders.

Anyone have issues getting paddles to work again after the 7603537 flash version?
I have been running the other version for 3+ yrs without issues. When I first flashed the old version I used Part II procedure here to get paddles working again. Now same procedure does not get the paddles to work after 7603537. Car runs and drives fine no issues shifting or displaying D1, S1, M1 etc., just no paddles. Any ideas? ALl the files are up to date, and I even went back to my old original NCSexpert version (I used a newer set up to flash 7603537) and same result. No paddles. |

I looked at my notes and actually I did not reset paddles via current procedure last time as I said above, I used the old/first paddle fix procedure where you code paddle settings to wert_00 in NCSexpert. That procedure is now gone off the web but I still have all the files I used. So I don't know perhaps I need to code it back to my original (wert_02), or somehow having done that procedure makes this newer procedure not work. The other correction is I first flashed Alpina back in early 2013, so it was 2+ and not 3+ yrs. |

Another update.
OK got paddles back. Did not have to recode anything, just used part II procedure on page 1 of this thread. I THINK what worked was the following. I could get INPA to run and read engine and other error codes, but not the tranny. I figured this was not an issue and kept jumping to NCSexpert to do the part II procedure. It ran fine with no errors, but no paddles. I decied to track down the errors on INPA related to the EGS not being read. It turns out there needed to be a GS19.ipo file in the right place that was not there. I added those files (GS19.ipo and GS19D.ipo just in case) and I could read errors in INPA on the EGS module (tranny). There was one error, I cleared it, closed out of INPA, ran NCSexpert, and voila, paddles are back. So I am not sure if it was having the right (newer) GS19 file in the right place (SGDAT folder in INPA) or having that allowed me to clear a code that I had to clear before the reset took, or what. BTW having the right GS19 file is required to reset TCU adaptations in INPA, which I have done several times using my old copy and file set up. I am not sure why my old copy of NCSespert which has that file did not work, perhaps because I did not try to use my old INPA to clear EGS codes. Who knows. |

I also had Steven flash and code remotely and it was quick and easy. He replied to text messages within a few minutes. We did it in 2 sessions, each session took about 20-25 minutes and there were no glitches or weird results. Highly recommended!

An update from me - this flash also works on a BMW 325d. The transmission is the same as the Alpina ZF6HP19. However, I do have a permanent error in gearbox module - "invalid coding". Car drives close to perfect, shifts _really_ quick in S/M and silky smooth in D. Only downside is that it does not change gears in WOT at the moment. I'm running remapped that might be hte reason. It just sticks at 5100 rpm - untill I either let go of the go-fast pedal og manually change gears.

If you have 1-er or 3-er with ZF6HP19 and N47 diesel engine, follow the instructions from first post but use ZB number 7603531 instead of 7615835.
Just coded my E81 120D and everything works perfectly. BTW as far as I know flashing proccess will erase gearbox adaptation values, so it's better no to hit pedal to the metal from the start. Give it a time in D mode and low speeds for gearbox to make a new adaptations. |
