NAV Retrofit - Are CIC and CCC dashboards equivalent?

I'm trying to figure out a cost-effective method to retrofit CIC navigation to my 2008 E90 which has no navigation at this time.
Can I use the dash from a CCC-equipped model and just update the screen and other modules to bring it up to a CIC model?
Or are the dashboards actually different in the 2nd hump area?

Thanks

Yes, your correct. If you choose to buy a dash from a prelci e90 and go through all the electronic logistics, then you could technically just drop in the new cic screen and navigation.

Yes, the dash is 100% the same, down to the trim pieces. In a CIC retrofit for a CCC-equipped car, you literally replace just the screen, the headunit and two wires. The trim for the controller is different, though. Also, the glovebox has a small piece of trim for the USB port in a CIC-equipped car; CCC-equipped cars have a flashlight in that piece of trim instead.

Make sure to get a dash from a E90,E91 or E92. Some E93 dashboards have knee airbags.

If you are pulling the dash yourself, try to get the power/data wiring for the controller and screen. The CCC screen power plug will need to be changed but the CCC pins fit into the CIC plug. At a minimum, get enough wiring to reach the back of the radio.
