I had a front brake caliper bleeder screw mess up and I won't be able to replace it. I will have to get another caliper. If I do that, I will need to paint it to match my others, but then I will have to paint them all over again so the paint matches.


Next option would be to buy all 4 non painted and just swap them all out.

Is there a next option after the stock 335 brakes? I don't mind upgrading if it is something I can just buy (1500 budget) and throw on and be good with the front and back. I don't think I want to shell out 4k+ for a full BBK set up.

Unless you are tracking it, BBK is a total waste of money.

Best bet it to get 4 rebuilt ones and have them powder coated.

They also have a set for the rear. $500 and I can get some spare rotors and pads while I am at it.

Or they have another auction for just the calipers but my stuff is pretty rusty.

Was thinking these should be nice and clean and make it easier to put some paint on them or powder coat.

If it were me, I'd get my calipers at Rock Auto. The pads & rotors I'd get at FCP euro, which would give me a lifetime warranty on the pads & rotors…

Yeah. In the past 6 months I have probably racked up 5k at FCPEuro. I was only gonna go with the eBay route because they had like a "package" deal. But yeah I totally forgot about Rock Auto. Used to buy loads of stuff from them for my 86 Mustang. I had a look just now and they have rear powder coated brake calipers. If only they had fronts powder coated as well... I think I will get a set of unfinished fronts and rears and then hit them with some paint.

No the caliper is done. Sure I could probably drill and retap but I would rather not do that. I like the feeling of knowing that something is done correct and clean. It is easier on my mind spending $100 on a brand new caliper than to repair an old possibly worn out caliper.

All the calipers are red and painted 5 years ago. If I paint the new one, it will look brand new while the others look like they have some age. So then I would need to take the others completely apart and strip all the layers of paint off. That is a lot of work and high chance of another bleeder screw or something else being worn out or needing replaced.

I can buy 4 new calipers with new parts installed for a couple hundred. This is a great peace of mind knowing the calipers are brand new with brand new parts. Then all I need to do is make sure no grease/oil is on them, prime, and paint. Super easy. The couple hundred I will spend is something I would rather do than to strip old paint and clean the old calipers.

I ordered 4 Centric remans from Rockauto. Also have some G2 red paint coming to paint them since they will be uncoated and should be nice and clean.

Do you know what exact colour you used?

I've done this multiple times: silver, yellow, blue calipers painted a few years to a decade apart(some even from factory). After they get dirty once and in a month or 2 you cannot even tell the difference anymore.

Do rear from 135 (really hard to get rear rotors for that combo that fit E90).
Front from F30 335/340 and if you have 18" wheels you can go M sport from F30 with 370mm rotors.
Change master cylinder and put one from E90 M3.

F30 340mm should fit 17". They do on F30.

I am on the lookout for Brembo 340mm version. I don't want to run minimum 18" bcs. snow tires.
