Many of you need to read some articles regarding blow off valves.
you are not messing with pistons here.

Holy....

Is that whine the turbos, and only the hiss is the BOV? I haven't had the opportunity to hear a 335i whipped like that.

Stunning.

Here's a quick B.O.V 101 tech info for ya..The purpose of a B.O.V is to release the extra air that gets pushed back into the intake tract when the throttle plate is closed suddenly(ie when you let off your gas pedal). The reason why this has to happen is because if the extra air is not released somehow it will make its way back into the turbo turbine housing, forcing the turbo fins to stop suddenly and start spinning on the opposite direction, thus resulting in turbo damage...The reason why the stock system has a airflow recirculation system is purely to eliminate noise..on some cars equipped with a mass airflow sensor you must release that air back into the intake tract, otherwise the mass airflow meter does not see the air being released and will cause the engine to stall, but apparently the 335i does not have that proble..hope that helped...

When you put a BOV on cars running with MAF the car won't stall, the car will just run rich in between shifts

There's a reason why people don't prefer stick (low resale value, slow unless you're a pro, and you can't even rest for a moment)...

I'm with Jay Leno on this subject. He disagrees with you.

Try telling that to the owners of sr20det equipped cars and Mazdaspeed 3 turbo engines that...Guarantee you most maf equipped engines with an aftermarket B.O.V will stall between shifts when you hit the clutch pedal...

This is true because my wife mazdaspeed protege will stall if it had a bov. You have to change a decent amount of parts to get it to work.

There was no point????...... I was just wondering if the sr20's were in your cars. I see that there are people backiing your point, so my info must be wrong. I only know of MAF cars running rich with BOV's. I have never heard or seen a MAF car stalling with BOV. It's all good though I can admit when im wrong.

What cars were the sr20's in??
