Install day meet !!! Anyone?
I was about to drop my car off to the dealer for service this coming saturday on doing oil change, F&R brake pads and various other things and am going to pick it up sometime next week. I did see that several others were down with some sort of installation day meet/get together for their own benefit. If somebody doesn't know how to install tune, intake, DV, taking off interior trims and installing hardwired laser detector or something along that line of DYIs... it would be cool to just come out and hang out for your future references...
This idea came out while i was talking with Joe about installation of JB3, intake, and some other mods. and it seems like several people were interested to see it in person... If we can all get together and help out each other on whatever, it would be nice... Just need to look for someone who's willing to have us all out their on his/her garage for this to happen with right tools... Any input on idea would be great. Just trying to set the date and time for right place... until further notice, I will probably meet Joe to have JB3 installed mainly... I still would be interested to see how to take interior trim off and very possibly have it CF wrapped like Eric did... I know peter was talking about doing hardwire Valentine... I recall Jay with the whiteM3 saying he has a garage the size of the parking lot we were in yesterday
If that's the case - maybe we can buy him a case of beer to use the spot |

Well, his "garage" is the parking garage for his apartment complex, so yeah it's BIG! I wonder how they'd feel about a bunch of guys wrenching on cars though....

I'm down for whenever wherever as well. I have a garage but definitely not big enough to accommodate more than two cars at a time, one if you need a lot of room around it.
David, if you want more info about the CF wrap, PM BMW Motorsport. He also has a thread here (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203313). I'd be happy to help remove the trim pieces for you.

I think my garage will be big enough. I can install the BMC DCI like no other so I can help you there.

I will be there to do anything to help. I would offer my garage w/c is not bigger than Septro(Joe) garage but I'm way up North in Snohomish. I have a descent driveway that we can park at least 7 cars if that can help as back up option.

I just got my LUX 5.0 in as well and have to install that. It's a PITA compared to the coupe's since all they have to do is change a bulb. We have to take our wheels off and get behind the wheel well.

I did my by myself too. I jack my car up and took off the wheel. It does take longer but I think is easier that way.

My idea behind this "installation day" was to get together and get it install easier by getting some helps and tips from those who have done the mods...
Once I pick up my car from the dealer sometime next week, I will try to get intake, DV, JB3 install all at once and interior trims and exhuast as follow. I'm shooting for Saturday of 14th but I'm willing to do it whatever day most people prefer. It seems like a lot of people are interested in doing some stuff and also willing to help out, which is great to see, but if it's going to be too many people, since we're not looking to rent out the shop or anything, it might be more trouble and hassle... My suggestion is simple (...or not! ). We can make a list of things to do for each and every one of you and perhaps group it out or something... In that way, you don't have to waste whole day of your time waiting someone else getting DCI/ JB3 installed in order to install Lux 5.0... You guys see the logic here? Of course, if it comes out to be more of small group of people get together, then we can try to do'em all on same day but maybe different time slot or something... Just guaging interest here... So I'll start the list. First thing first, I'm hoping to install DCI/DV/JB3 at the same time but we will see how it goes... Feel free to put your name and grow the list... put the date you would like to participate... This is best I can think of... Any better idea would be welcome... |

Cool. I need the DCI and my RevII installed. I am on call for work starting next week, so i have to stay close to Renton the entire weekend and I have guests coming over also. If I have time I could drop by for an hr or so.
I am back for service @ the dealer the first week of March. I may just install the Procede and leave the DCI's until after my service. I have been running stock for the last week.. .. not sure how much more it I can take.

Hey David...I can help with the trims pretty much any day instead of that day. I would be shot if I wasn't home on Valentine's day!
I will also have a Rev II, DCI and boost gauge to install, but most likely not until the end of this month or early March.

i can install intake and dv any days, just figured it would be more fun with more people... i'd be interested to see that boost gauge installation since i'm trying to mimic what you have... hahaha once you set on the date for boost gauge, just let me know and i will swing by to help you and you can show me how to take trim pieces off...
