Hey all, I am a new member to this forum and BMW's. I just bought a 2006 alpine white 330i with 23k miles. I have never been big into fast or nice cars, but i think that just changed haha. I am scheduling to have the windows tinted this weekend and was curious how dark i should/can go...? I want it to be as dark as possible but i dont want to get pulled over all the time....if that even happens? Thanks

First of all, congrats OP for the new car
 Secondly, probably 15% is enough. Dark enough from the outside (same as what I got), and I never pulled over by cops just because of my tint

Nice. I def want to go dark, so i will take your advice with the 15%. Any other must to do obvious customizations? I am new at doing anything to any vehicles...

Welcome fellow new BMW owner. I just recently had my windows tinted. I did 18% and am pretty happy. I have a tan interior and I think the brightness of my interior makes it not seem as dark during the day. If you have grey or black interior then 18% is plenty dark. If you have tan interior then I would suggest 15%. Although I have no idea what is the "legal" limit. Just my $.02.

congrats and welcome!!
if you have a black interior, 20% tint will be good enough. If not, you might want to go for 15%.

Welcome to the family. In California you cannot tint your front windows period. That however does not stop any of us. I have mine tinted at 35% and it looks great.
