18x8.5 square setup question
About to pull the trigger on a very rare set of wheels for a very very good price. I am waiting on hearing back from him if they are et15 or et38. (Hoping to hear et38) however, I will have the ability to run neg. camber up front regardless.
Looking to run PSSs widest possible. If they are et38 can I run 255/35/18s square? I'll be on tckline coils/vorshlang camber plates and m3 front bits. Car is a pre-Lci e90 330i, fenders are not pulled currently but can be if needed. If they are et15, what are my options? I've searched for quite a while and am still in the dark. Thanks all! |

I think I can help with that:
8,5x18 ET35, 10mm spacers front, 5mm rear, 255/35 R18 tires all around (Federal RS-R, semi-carcass and running WIDE). 10mm spacers rear with stock fenders didn't work out, tire rubs between fender and rear bumper. Rear has minimum negative camber for better turnin (about 1° 40' IIRC) Front has M3 lower wishbones and KW Clubsport camber plates set to about 2° 45' negative. Lots of fender clearance but I need at least a 5mm spacer to clear the strut of the coilovers. This is 8,5x18 ET35 with the 255/35 R18 and NO spacers on the front. The wide tire is slightly touching the lower spring perch of the KW Clubsports. 5mm spacer is minimum, 10mm is safe. Depends on type of coilovers and amount of lowering of course. In your case: ET38 will do just fine, but you'll probably need spacers on the front to clear the coilovers and on the rear for cosmetic purposes. I think you can even make ET 15 work out on the pre-LCI with a bit of fender roll or a slightly skinnier tire. |

Great info! Thanks for the reply.
I'm thinking et15 would be workable for the rear, but from everything you just said, keeping 255/35 all around I don't believe et15 fronts will work. I'm really hoping the wheels turn out to be et38. I'll post pics if they are as a pre-spring teaser. |

They are 18x8.5 et15. I'm heading to check condition tomorrow and maybe pick them up. Do you think they will work with a little fender work and camber? Not looking for crazy stance/camber/low. More of a performance oriented setup.
