Anyone from northern VA with tune?

Wanted to inquire about our emission testing and if your tune is OBD readiness compliant and passes the testing. Thanks and feel free to IM me.

Alright, this is coming from a Cali dude who has just got done dealing with this and done A LOT of research. Unless you know of a dude to help you smog out illegally then your best bet is to purchase the block off plates for the EGR(this will retain the stock appearance of the engine bay) not that it matters though. Next is to purchase a stage 2 tune for stock components while informing them of the EGR delete so they can tune that out. This way you can get your increased HP and TQ and get rid of the EGR that makes this engine shi* where it eats.

As far as removing the tune for emissions time you have one of two choices, you either buy a used DDE also known as an ECU from ebay for like 100 bucks and have the 335d tuners clone your ECU to it for around 400 and then you'll have a tuned ECU and a stock tuned ECU which you can swap out at your own will. This can be pricey obviously but provides convenience of being able to swap out whenever you want(also the EGR delete plates at the same time obviously). Second option is to rent a remote tuning tablet from the tuners every time you need to swap between tunes.

$100 for a used DDE is a steal. They are considerably more expensive from what I have seen.
