Faulty Bimmergeeks Cable, Kline and DCAN

Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone has encountered this. I've been using this Bimmergeeks cable on my 2006 325i for about 8 months. My brother recently bought 2007 328xi and when I try to connect to it, I can't connect to modules whatsoever, giving the error of IFH-0009 in multiple programs.

For a while I thought it was my setup, but when I decided to try my spare generic K+DCAN cable from Amazon, boom, works flawlessly.

I verified that the JBE in the 2007 328xi uses DCAN (blue port in middle, build date 09/06) and my cars uses Kline (blue port on left, build date 02/06). I have also tried the switch in both postions, but according to Bimmergeeks, this switch is for different chassis, not model years.
  • Bimmergeeks FAQ: "E46, E39, E53, E38, E83 and anything older set the switch LEFT or set the button to be PUSHED IN. For models such as E90, E60, E70, E88, F, G, and I chassis and anything newer set the switch RIGHT or set the button to the UN-PUSHED postion."

I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues, or have any ideas or thoughts as to where it failed. I have already contacted Bimmergeeks and look towards replacing it but since these cables are currently out of stock, I might be out of luck.

If you know any other reputable cables other than Bimmergeeks (specifically one that can flash GM trans without bricking it) please let me know. Thanks everyone.

i think the generic k+dcan cable with switch works well. i have used it in coding in ncsexpert and updating using winkfp. the cable you want might be more relaible but they are similar and function well for me.

Update:

Bimmergeeks honored their warranty and are sending me a replacement cable. Looking forward to see if this cable works as it should.

Faulty Thor wifi

Thought I’d post this here as it seems relevant, ordered a Thor WiFi dongle from eBay, worked for 2 days and now it don’t give out a WiFi signal so I’m unable to connect. Has anyone else had any trouble with a Thor dongle?

I’ve literally just put mhd on it v9.0, cleared a misfire code after, now i’m worried the car might do it again and I have no way of clearing the code or changing the map
