Anyone else with worn steering wheel woes?

The leather looks aged and worn on my msport steering wheel

Looks like azaa makes nice after market steering wheels but they are like 800-1000 bucks!

Anyone have any other ideas , option ?

Dude that's gorgeous !! Was it a seller from
Latvia !?

I found one like that with carbon fiber and red/blue stitching but didn't have paddle
Shifters

I'll check eBay again I was worried about the quality but they said it's top quality and they build from scratch (new wheel foam , new leather and stitching) i was worried they just wrapped new leather over the original wheel

i think all they need is paddle cutouts and you can switch the paddles from your oem wheel to the aftermarket one.

I wonder if an Upolstery shop can re wrap wheels?
My friends brother offered to do re do mine last year for $100. I should’ve got it done!

Cleaning your steering wheel is a good move. Its the nastiest thing in your car as you touch it everyday. I use a magic eraser, get a small bowl of water, wet the sponge, squeeze it out and GENTLY clean the shinyness off. It will make it like "newish" again. The shiny oily steering wheel will look like leather once again.

Here are better pics - I think so you just need to find someone that repairs leather can make it look new without re wrapping it

When I bought my wife's mdx it had a couple trears in the leather console and door and dealer said no problem go to lunch with family I'll have repaired by time we do papers when back - blew my mind couldn't tell

The top part of my steering wheel is cracking. It's not as bad as yours, but there's a crack line along the top. Been wondering how best to repair myself. So in for suggestions.

I think a new wheel is so worth it although $950 from azaa configured as below - talk about a nice interior refresh and update -

If it's just the leather that's the issue and you don't want to shell out for a new wheel, just get a leather wrap kit online.

Got one for my non sport wheel, under $40, and comes with everything you need including stitching thread (also available in different colours).

Easy, but time consuming to install. Just go slow and be patient.

Does anyone know the difference between the artificial leather steering wheel cover/wrap that you sew on versus the genuine leather one? Other than the price?
When i got the steering wheel wrap for my non-sport wheel they only offered genuine leather and only for $40 CAD if memory serves me correctly as a starting campaign to get their product out there. I really liked how it felt after I conditioned it once with mink oil. and after 3 years it still looks and feels great.

I upgraded to the sport steering wheel a couple years ago because I found it for a good deal with the air bag. Now I'm finally sick of the weird stock "leather" on the sport steering wheel that (to me) looks and feels like a cross between rubber and plastic (not leather…). The steering is so heavy and the genuine leather made it easier to use because of the better grip it gave me (perforations help with grip too).

Also, I love perforated leather on the sides of a steering wheel ever since I was a young lad, and I want that look/feel again. . Man i should have spent another $150 for the M sport wheel that came with perforated leather. Now I need to spend a few hours on this DIY. Oh well.

Basically, I am Wondering if its worth paying $80 CAD for the genuine leather or 40$ CAD for the Polyurethane or Bonded leather. Anyone have any input on the leather quality/ feel? It would be appreciated, thank you in advance. Please mention which type of leather you received and your thoughts on it.

Wow I didn't think they would look that good and it would make your wheel fatter being it's a wrap over , I didn't consider thinking it would look like crap ?

It's been 4-5 years now, and for the price still one of the best mods for the dollar, feels and looks much better than before.
