A healthy 6HP28 transmission can handle up to a 1000NM of torque. 6HP21 are much weaker, but there are lots of examples with 600 - 700 Nm running fine.

Correct, we doubt that too, but if you want to drive a race track setup, holding the gears at roughly 4k RPM, you can drive that in your daily too.

Here is a video where you see, how it shifts in S mode in Stage 4:

This is incredible. The automatic shifts in S-mode are so crisp. Hard to believe that is an otherwise stock transmission. This is a completely stock transmission with xHP stage 4 tune? Just double checking! Amazing results. I think stage 3 is more than enough for a daily driver. Maybe even consider stage 2. Great product and after a few more hours of research I think this will be a purchase in the near future. Keep up the great work gentlemen

Is it not recommended to check the Linear Throttle option on MHD while having xHP installed?

Shiftpoints will change. Just try it. It's up to you, not good or bad. Not related to xHP, but to Auto-Trans in general.

Thanks, I do prefer the feel of linear throttle but wanted to make sure it wasn't damaging anything with xHP installed

If you haven't seen it already, we just posted a video of the next custom feature we are working on.
Starting from standstill in 2nd gear! Especially high horsepower cars profit of this whether used in daily driving or together with launch control, to shave a little bit more time off of your 0-60 times, as you save one shift.

Here you can read the full post and watch the video on facebook.

We are still looking at implementing this feature for the E90 as well.

We are eager to know what you think about it!

I did the fluid and filter 2 years ago and i didn't drive much, ~10k give and take. And I don't remember my first impression when I got my car 2 summers ago.

Probably a dumb question. I didn't see this information anywhere. Does anyone feel 1st gear shifts to 2nd gear lag a bit until the car (or trans.) warms up? (6AT ZF). I never asked because it feels smooth after the car warms up. That'd be great if anyone can point me to the right direction to read more about this.

That sounds normal,

Wait for the engine oil and gearbox oil to warm up before sending it. I always wait till engine oil is at least 100c

Is this different to the option to stay in 2nd gear at standstill under the customisation module?

Could you explain a bit more?

You're probably right. I never full send when engine's cold, especially initial cold drive.

I would assume this is for comfort and traction when people drag race.

It has nothing to do with comfort.......it just keeps the rear tires from spinning so much when you launch in 2nd gear. 1st gear is super low.....it's almost too low when you have a car making lots of power. You can't put the power to the ground....... launching in 2nd gear help. Or so I have been told ....

From my stand point on cold trans and engine, it could count as a comfort feature. In xHP manual, their "comfort" calibration in for customization, shift point is set to shift to 2nd gear at the earliest when applying throttle under normal driving condition.

You could do already from selecting start from second gear at standstill using custom module.

Just a bit confused what the new feature is, since it sounds similar to the existing option, will wait for RBT to clarify.

Yeah, sending when cold is asking for a disaster to happen. Always warm up engine/gearbox oil.

Full disclosure, I did not read through every page...

That being said, if I am getting an error about 2/3 of the way through installing xHP, is it most likely due to the crappy cable I have? I was able to create the backup file just fine, but when I go to install, it fails. I was then unable to communicate with the car until I unplugged, switched the ignition off then back on and reconnected. I then was able to uninstall and that went fine. I had the same issue at about the same spot when trying to install the second time. The cable I am using was purchased from amazon a couple of years ago for use with Carly.

Thanks for any input. I wanted to check here before buying another cable in case I might be missing something.

Hi, please use the recommended hardware. (Manual, Page 6) The el-cheapo cables from Amazon are hit and miss.

The latest. Differences in the versions can be seen in the Changelog. Viewable when clicking on a map and scrolling down.

This is not about manual mode. This is about D and S mode.
