Yes, this flashes the TCU, not the ECU.

I am pretty confident the answer is no but any chance this could communicate through the Burger Tuning JB4 as there is a USB input there to communicate via an Android device or is the direct cable to the OBD port needed. My thought is on Map 0 there may be a connection there to OBD bypassing the JB4.

I've specially registered an account just for xHP - thank you so much for all your hard work thus far!
![]() It still isn't clear to me how the OTS maps can be considered in terms of purchasing multiple ones or just the Stage 3 setup, as well as how flexible customizing options are for D/S/M mode. My assumption is that the Stage 3 setup included everything of the Stage 2 setup, but not the 'economy style driving' feature of the Stage 1 setup? Would this than mean that you'd have to purchase both Stage 1 AND 3 OTS maps, so you could program D mode for eco driving, S for 50% faster shifts and M for faster shifts + removal of the rev limiter? From a financial point of view, I already find the total cost of 210 USD for the base license and the stage 3 map quite steep to be honest. Adding another 50 USD for the comfort map would make things only worse. Also, just go get an idea of the improvements in terms of shifting speed, how would you compare the ZF6HP with the xHP Stage 3 setup to the new stock ZF8, let's say on a scale of 1-10 with the ZF8 being 10? Final remark: your car seems quite fast judging from the demo videos. Is this stock behavior or are you running a Stage 1 ECU tune? Many thanks in advance and keep up the good work! I'm really looking forward to the release ![]() Last edited by NeverSettling; 02-11-2017 at 10:39 AM.. |

The reason for the Stages is, that a lot of people actually don't care about throttle blips or faster shifts. They just want the trans to behave like a modern auto-trans with firmer shifts and proper shiftpoints and additonally not like a CVT in 1st and 2 gear with the sluggish torque converter. The Stage 1 cures this. If you want faster upshifts too, go for Sport. If you want to drift the car at redline, tune the shit out of your engine and experience heel-toe feeling on downshifts, go for Stage 3. The main development car is a 325d LCI, rated at 280 hp and 580 Nm. |

Thanks for the clarification, so stg 1 and 2 differ by max torque and shift speed.
Does the comfort tune change shift points for DS mode too? With the changes on tc lockup, i understand it helps fuel savings but wouldn't it bring more wear to the lockup clutch? Also, quicker shifts would mean less wear on clutch packs? If we could program a taller 6 th. Gear or taller final drive, haha |

I'm currently in a 2011 LCI E90. I haven't looked up my transmission but I really hope this works for my car. I'm all in if it works and if it can be used in conjunction with MHD. Fingers crossed

The build date for my 335D is October 2006. Will it be supported?
If not, there is a big market for cars built during this period so it would be a real shame if there was no pending support for their respective TCUs. |

By the Way, my e92 330d build date is almost the same of yours, i hope is supported by xph. If i'm not wrong, my 330d and your 335d has different steptronic version, so one could be supported but not the other one.. |

It's very similar, but not the same..(maybe one support 700nM of torque and 330d 600nM...i guess). So they could have different ecu... |

Even the 335d E92 and the 335d E90 don't share the same TCU at the same build date in MY 06/07.
Why is that? Don't know. Ask BMW and ZF. I'm trying to unfiddle this mess every day. |
