Computer not updating service mileage?

Hi all,

Recently I have purchased a used '08 335xi coupe and am absolutely loving it so far! I have the car for about a couple of months now and am as I am getting more familiar with the car I have seen something that is odd and I have a question as if something is wrong.

When I go into the I-drive system and check the remaining time for the service options the mileage is not updating, in other words for the brakes, the oil change, everything it shows a constant mileage and is not decreasing at all and from searching the message boards I do get the impression that it should be decreasing as I drive the vehicle. The car was serviced prior to my purchase as the fuel injectors and spark plugs were replaced (previous owner purchased gasoline from gas stations not on the recommended list from BMW), I am wondering if maybe something was not reset at the dealer?

I am thinking about making the trip over to the dealer to confirm that nothing is wrong as I want to be sure I get the correct servicing at the right time and do not prolong it.

Thanks!

As far as I know, it should be counting down. I find it very odd that it isn't counting down at all too. I would take it to the dealer and ask them if there is something wrong with the system or if you and I are missing something.

I've got the same issue for my Front Pads only though. Everything was working fine until i had front rotor + pad & sensor replacement done by the dealer, it was showing 50,000km left on the front pads and still after 15-20,000km it's still showing 50,000km
