I'm so glad someone caught that reference. Without the video camera, they are pretty common items.

Sorry should've specified. That's what it is. Tow strap with a shackle, I couldn't remember what the end parts that look like a "U" were called lol. I have the same one in my Jeep and it has been great. It is more than enough for the BMW should I ever need to use it.

Generic tool sets are next to useless. A driver with multiple torx tips however gets you a lot of places. A jack? Maybe a 17mm socket and breaker bar. I have found tire repair kits and compressors next to useless trying to fix a flat with the car on it. Slime brand tire repair kits freaking rock. Paid for itself many times over now. Jacking up the care to take the pressure off the tire seems to make repairs much easier. Bluetooth OBD dongle and smartphone scan tool are nice. Looking into Carly but so many mixed reviews not too sure.... I am used to packing everything I need to fix most issues roadside but the BMW has just too many different tools, wrenches, e-torx bolts etc... I'd give it a try of course but no way am I going to kit out like I was able to for my old A1 VW cars or an old Dodge truck.
Oil? I can't see why. Even if you are low that means there is probably a leak too bad to drive anywhere safely anyway. Same thing with coolant... Forget that. If you need to top off your coolant on the road you need to pay more attention in the driveway! |

A reliable car if you could fit one in, it's a shame we have to ask this question, and that's not a criticism to us BMW owners.
My 92 Corvette just keeps running and never came with tools from the factory. When you think about it ... why do BMWs come with tools from the factory, hmmmmmmmmmm. |

Jokes aside, nicely done. I can't say I'd be nearly as prepared as you to address issues at the roadside! |

I figure if I drive around with tools I might never have to use them, instead of needing them but not having any.
Sort of like buying a snow blower before winter and it never snows... I've owned my Jeep longer than either of my BMWs, and over the 9 years I've owned it have always had tools and a first aid kit in it. I've never needed to use them for myself thankfully, but have used them numerous times to help out other people.

I don't think I've read the obvious BMW answer...
NOTHING, it weighs too much
