Next car after a 335i

Bit of a random thought but what do you guys see yourself getting after owning a 335i? especially you guys running JB4, DCI, downpipes etc.

It seems the only way of really upgrading power wise is in the 25k+ region, cars like the C63.

I'm not looking at selling just yet as it certainly does the job but I am curious as to what others move on to.

I went electric a few years ago now, still remember my 335i fondly, but life/priorities with a 18 months old is very different these days, in a good way

For me a cars a car, I see them everyday of the week and after my 335i went I opted to simply get a car that was comfortable and got me from A to B.

I chose a simple 10 year old Golf GT-TDI, it does the job, its quite torquey being a re mapped 138 non DPF model, I go to a fuel station every 4 or so weeks whereas my 335i was every 7-10 days for me this all makes sense.

Big question at the time as would I miss the buzz, the noise. Oddly enough no I don't.

Switched from my 335i to an E92 M3. Don’t regret it at all, great decision and best car I’ve owned by some distance.

The next car for me will need to be an auto and estate.
The F31 doesn't really do it for me yet, so I'm properly stuck.

I fancy a Mercedes C class but they don't come in a decent petrol, the other one is either the Ford Edge or Mondeo Estate (2l ecoboost) though.

Keep thinking about M3s but I've been spoilt my individual 330i. High spec and with a great colour combo (IMO). It would have to be a very special M3, you never know. None of the newer BMWs interest me either. Maybe an M2

After my E91 335i, I went F31 335i. Mmmm. Without going in to it too much, the E91 was much better to drive and certainly felt more connected to what's going on. The tech. in the F31 was great, but I buy cars that are fun to drive, and it just wasn't. Tried a 340i too, and whilst the engine is a cracker, the chassis etc isn't.

Came back to an E90 and have a lovely M3 now. Happy days. It's thirstier than the 335i, but on another level in terms of sound, feel and presence. I'm lucky to be able to own it.

Would you say the M3 is still worth the premium? Good ones are still north of £25k

I would. Mine was first advertised at £29k and I didn't pay much less. A decent M3 is a lovely thing to own. Mine still has BMW warranty, not that I've had reason to use it yet, but it's always nice to have.

The biggest issue with the M3 is that many have been through a number of owners and found themselves wearing WANLI ditch finders and sporting gaps in service history and in need of TLC. Finding the diamonds in the rough can take some time.

Yep - I've noticed that in my brief search. Typically I've been looking at LE500s and most have had a poor life or not been spec'ed with EDC or HK audio!

It seems nuts that someone would spec an M3 without nice bits and pieces. Sure, I understand that it's all about the driving experience, but when you're not on it, it would be nice to have a decent stereo, heated seats, etc.

Currently have an e80 330D LCI and love it. Going to keep for a year or so then look to get something different. Really fancy an Audi B8 S4, remapped they are seriously fast

I went from late plate e92 M3 from my 330i of 4 years.

Tried a couple of 335i E91's but as standard it did not feel enough of a step up from 330i.

The M3 is outrageous. Making the engine sing is a joy and the bodywork difference are really noticeable next to normal E92. It really does look and feel like a different car.
