Great motors, 45 MPG though, how are you managing that?

Not neccesarily mate, mine mate 300 with just Stage 1, then it went up to 330 on the same rollers with just an ITG Maxogen which, despite being a GREAT Induction Kit, is still only an Induction kit. So that's where it went a bit fishy. Having said that, the kit wasnt supplied or fit by the garage that tested it so they had nothing to gain by bullshitting.

The car then ran less after the HPFP and Milltek TBE were fitted and felt VERY bad, then ran 340 on a 'bog standard' Stage 2+ map which once tweaked ran close to 380 bhp. That's where the car is now...

I get better MPG running Stage 2+ tweaked than I do on Stage 2+ 'bod standard' which I guess is down to better fuelling and less engine stress from more boast or some other bullshit argument. In either case, I'm lucky to see 31mpg on a long motorway run so 45 is exceptional.

It's worth noting I have a number of other small engine mods like the Forge Actuator and a couple of other bits that help keep it all together.

Great looking motor,

I also have a GTi and just found out there has been a recall on the tfsi engines to replace the coilpacks. Worth ringing your local VW dealer to see if it's affected by the "28F5-W-Ignition Coil" enhancement recall.

Which RR were you on? I ran a RR day on the mkvgti forum, and out of all the ed30's there on stage 1 I think from memory the best was 292, with the next below 290, and this was at SRR which are considered one of the more accurate. The standard size intercooler on the ED30 won't let it go much above 310ish - have you changed yours as that makes a massive difference. My S3 with Milltek, stage 1 and intake made 330, because of the bigger cooler.

Yours at 380 must be mental now!??

It's now got an S3 one mate, that went on with the HPFP etc. Forgot to mention it. Wasn't fitted for the stage 1 or stage 1 + ITG runs though.

RR is a dyno dynamics one.

Nice ed30 - had one for a day when they first came out - love the full throttle upshifts!

Looks immaculate apart from the paint on the bonnet which seems to be peeling.......

Its not a dream, thats my nightmare scenario

Actually I get one of those cracking deals on the 3er, hence I ended up with the 330 not the 335. Unless I did find a bargain of the century Gti, i think the 3er is a keeper...and tbh i dont really have the time to think about swapping cars!

I bet you find it a pita to stop the ED30 .If you go for a S3 /R32 set up please speak to me first, I found a guy in Ireland who sold me the complete front kit every part brand new for £645 delivered to my door.It makes a joke off the secondhand sets for £500 with worn disks and pads dirty etc.

The rear sets are like hens teeth 288mm std stock or S3 310mm vented .there is a guy on the forum known as daveb he is the brake specialist and does all sorts off kits but if you just want to keep costs down and have some fun you need to be able to stop the bloody thing and for less than 1k you can sort the brakes .

I intend selling my old brakes and recover £250 so for £750 you are safe .

I just bought a set off secondhand calipers and daveb is refurbishing them and repainting them RAL 3002 to match the fronts new disks and pads

If you need the Numbers let me know

regards Paul
