No audio/chimes/sounds + SOS malfunction error
If someone please can help troubleshoot and help me fix the problem I have...
Please be aware I exhausted myself of research and troubleshooting for this issue, not only on this forum but others as well. 2007 E92 328i w/ NAV (no satellite radio). Logic7 sound system. My rear driver side shock (location of where the amp is) blew out last week. The other day I was driving and and hit a pothole (Toronto roads are the worst ). Immediately I had lost audio (I was playing music through AUX at the time it happened). Soon after I had gotten an SOS malfunction error. I CAN still access radio/cd/aux menus through iDrive, however no sound. I CANNOT access the phone/bluetooth features. It tells me it's not installed (see attachment). So with this, I troubleshooted first by checking all the fuses - FINE Bought a MOST loop and put it on the TCU module - No sound, same issues persistent MOST loop on amp - No sound, same issues persistent I have noticed that the wires on the wiring harness connecting to the amp are slightly torn. Could this be an issue? Please see attachment and advise. Where exactly should I look for a light coming from the amp, as I see none when the car is running. It's easy to say the amp is gone but it's confusing since why can't I connect via bluetooth then? Especially if the navigation and other audio modules are functioning (without sound). Thanks once again |

when any module in the most loop goes down you loose sound and and they all appear to be bad. In order of things that fail the amp is up first followed by the Sat or TCU.Mulf/combox followed by the Sat module. The amp most often goes down due to water in the amp area. http://www.bmwgm5.com/Logic7_6941681.htm http://www.bmwlogicseven.com/?p=3837 There are indicator led's in the L7 amp see the above thread for there meaning also there is a fuse for he amp and the other modules. If you put the jumper on the amp Most connector and the SOS error goes out its and indirect indication the amp may be bad. There are LED indicators in the amp again in the last thread. Did you do inspect the amp harness in the wheel well shock location? |

I have noticed iDrive constantly reboots itself every few minutes or so.
I should also add that as of recent, my driver side rear brake and signal light stopped working. I changed the bulb of the turn signal but it still didn't work. I'm assuming somewhere the connection stopped working, any ideas where I can check on this? Not sure if this is related to the issue identified in the OP. Thanks! |
