I have plenty of videos of the gen 1 exhaust as I was HPF's beta tester and concluded that they implement a resonator for drone levels at 2500-2900 rpm range. I bought a resonator but decided not to cut on the exhaust. I got a daily driver(2001.5 stage 2 Audi s4) and the exhaust note difference is night and day. I think if I were to have the 335 as a daily driver I would just put in a single muffler like the Turner Motorsport Exhaust. My eBay user ID is penn335 if you wanna see how loud it actually is. The 30 second vid is from a high quality camera and you can really see how loud she is on a cold start but it quiets Down some after warming up. Best thing I ever did was buy a DD...bc I can set up the 335 exactly like I want without having to hear it all the time and its set up to drive straight to the track and go right back in my garage.

I've seen that video. Extremely loud but it sounds like a truck at idle.. And I'm guessing it rasped a lot. I just need more confirmation that the fully catless resonated hpf setup has no rasp cuz I already know it's loud (which is a good thing).

My main goal will be to address all the questions I had while researching this system! And in response the the "just have it custom fabricated" guys, do a little research on how much a 3.5" full mandrel bent system would run you cat back! I'll just say, there's a reason I went ahead and bought the system opposed to a weekend exhaust shop venture! I live in Texas so maybe that has something to do with cost so hating if its cheaper where you live!!!

Anyway I'm just disappointed that there's only a small group of single exhaust systems for the 335i when many of the other inline, even V-6 sports cars are accompanied by a single 3" up system! IMO vendors kinda missed the mark there!

Kk I'm done now!
any news?

That's awesome cuz I don't care about drone at all as long as there is noooo rasp at all. I'm 99% getting this exhaust just making sure I don't make a mistake

Sorry but its not my intention to discredit the HPF exhaust...but i think you will regret it. The drone between 2000rpms - 3500rpms is unbearable. I fitted two resonators to see if it would help but it made the drone just deeper/lower.

I then cut off the hpf tail pipes and fitted the bmw performance exhaust mufflers and kept the rest of the HPF exhaust as is and what a magnificient sound. Drone gone completely.

Unless it drones more than a Shelby (and even if it does), I wouldn't mind it. Plus I could always use a different gear for long highway drives if it bothers me that much. All I care about is loud without rasp. That's just me though

if you don't care then it's perfect. dual flanged due to the downpipes into a SINGLE EXHAUST?! Dude it's pure performance. poppin flames, back firing. rasp. spanking and bangin. I miss mine but I do daily with it and I drive my parents around so it's hard out hea for a pimp mang.

let me do another video this weekend, the only drawback that i can think about the hpf exhaust, is that you have to be more careful with speed bumpers due to 3.5 exhaust diameter.

I'm sorry for not following up with my review promise. As it usually goes my handheld broke and I don't have replacement or repair money right now due to my girlfriends new finger candy... I CAN say, that with the JB4 set on map 2, this exhaust does not drone nearly as much as others claim or as you would expect! Windows up, highway speeds, I can easily listen to music and have a conversation at normal talking levels with ease! I will still stand by my claim of this being the best sounding 335i system! It's nothing like any other system I've heard. Hopefully I'll get a camera soon to do my review. Until then if you want to hear a semi accurate sound of the system check out my YouTube videos. Crank up the volume to get some of the undertones! Just search my screen name.

I got mine from HPF directly and paid regular price for it. They do offer deals occasionally that you can follow on their blog if you aren't in a hurry to buy one! I had just missed the 15% off all HPF products when I got mine. Let me say though, I'm not loaded and I highly understand the value of a dollar... This system is worth every penny I paid! Between the sound, look, and weight savings, I couldn't be happier! PS for anyone who cared my YouTube channel is MikesMetalAndSpeed, I'll link videos whenever the forums realize I'm not a spammer!

Exhaust is installed

i don't have access to a good camera, so i won't take videos yet. the iphone doesn't pick up the sound of the exhaust at all. all youtube videos sound nothing like the exhaust in person

i have the gen 2 HPF with CP-E catless downpipes (so it's a fully catless system)

procede obviously prevents any dash lights from appearing. there is definitely that signature catless smell whenever the engine is running. it's strong but i like it.

the. sound. is. amazing. it is LOUD. there is no rasp AT ALL when warm, and i haven't really floored it when the engine is cold for obvious reasons. I don't know how they did it, but it's perfect for anyone who wants a loud exhaust setup without sounding like a civic. i wasn't gonna pay thousands for an exhaust barely louder than stock, there's no point. if you want loud with no rasp, the fully catless HPF gen 2 setup is for you.

there is, of course, a price for this.. and that would be the drone. from 2500-3000 RPM, the drone is significant. With windows down in 6th gear in the highway going 75-80, it can and will get annoying to most people. i personally do not mind the drone, and if i do, i simply close the windows.. but there is drone. the middle compartment in the back seat will rattle like crazy... i'm probably gonna try the tennis ball method soon.

one other problem i ran into was the tips. the exhaust isn't very adjustable, and the tips are not centered in their respective bumper cutouts. has anyone else had this problem? it's not a big deal, and i'll keep looking for ways to fix it.

this exhaust turns heads. it is loud. you will wake people up on a cold start. i like it though

i will post videos when i get a hold of better equipment. if anyone has questions, let me know!
