How you do this is documented on this thread on vox_de_hg's post on page 5.

It gets a bit involved fixing the file.

You could upload your bad file and hope that maybe someone will fix it for you.

Or you can purchase a code from eBay.

The last choice is the easiest and cheapest from a time spent viewpoint.

Hello,

I am a complete Noob to everything BMW! However, I am enjoying the 2013 X5 quite nicely. I did notice that my navigation maps in out of date, approx 2013, so previous owners never did update. How in God's green earth can I update? All the technical stuff that you've included can someone email with what I need so that I can have my home, at least listed, on the maps? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!

The quickest and cheapest way to update your maps is to pay for the update from one of the second party map/code vendors.

You'll spend far more for cables, etc. that you will need to DIY unless you already have the stuff you need.

Your car is also post CIC...

Your current maps are PREMIUM, so it looks like your car does have CIC (Car Information Computer) (for X5 E70 from 10/2009 - 06/2013)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IDrive...91;iDrive_3.0]

NBT (Next Big Thing) came after CIC (from ~2012).

For Upgrade steps, refer to this thread (ignore steps 2 and 3 if you already have a FSC code)

As Bcoz mentions above.

I believe you can also find the maps via the "Software - help yourself" thread.

Thanks for the information that you provided. Since I am new to all things BMW any suggestions as to what I should do first? Just asking.
My number one is updating the Navigation, then I was thinking about doing the DVD in motion, thoughts?

BCoz,

I could really use someone's help. I am trying to figure all of the software that I need. I am unable, for the life of me, to find an American version of the map for 2020, or at the very least the most current map for my version of the BMW I have. can someone please provide me the file(s) necessary so that I can update my navigation please?

The map torrent file is available in the "software - help yourself" thread I mentioned.

Once you have downloaded the entire 24 gig torrent and unpacked the files into a Fat32 formatted usb drive, all you have to do is plug that drive into the glovebox and wait.

You will be prompted to update and enter the FSC code which you said you already have.

Anyone knows where can I download the maps for Japan CIC?
Anything newer than 2010 will do.

Exclamation E91 Touring 2009

My car was imported from Germany (BMW 320d Touring E91 Automatic 2009) and It has idrive console and a USB port in glove box. There are telephone and call buttons, but they do not appear in console menu.
VIN decode shows that I have "S606 Navigation System Business" installed.

My maps version shows :
ECE
BMW
1.8.2
Road Map Europe MOTION
2009-2
OR I can say (after more finding) that I have a basic audio setup in car.

How can I update these maps? Please help.

Thanks for the reply.
I have followed that procedure and still not getting the hex file onto the flash drive.

Starting to get the impression that I need to use some software to extract it like INPA or something?

Just my suggestion, download his file from the youtube video you'll find the links and try with that, I downloaded the files on this forum and did not work for me from some reason, maybe you have the same issue as my case, just my suggestion. Good luck!

Did you try downloading the file via Ethernet?

Unless you have the hardware on hand it is cheaper to pay for an FSC code.
