Thanks very much for this!
I recently did this install, and thanks to this DIY, it took me about an hour to complete. This is one of the best mods I've ever done to a vehicle! I will never own another car without a heated steering wheel! Cheers! |

From here, I'll just clip the unused wire and then wire it directly to the 12 pin connector, obviating any need for the 3 pin connector detailed in this DIY. Thanks everyone for the great resources here! |

Hey. I have a bmw e92 335d in uk. Just purchased all the parts needed except wiring. Will your information on wiring be the same for my car or if you know of any difference could you please let me know. (Just signed up to this forum so unsure how to message? Thanks!!

Which three wires did you use? Or does it matter? |

To anyone who has done a heated wheel retrofit, can anyone point me in the right direction here? Where does the brown wire on the right go? Does that get grounded anywhere? And the two wires on the bottom, is it correct that those will run to the fuse box for power and ground?

The green striped wire (pin 9 from the 12 pin connector) runs to 12V from a switched fuse (I used a Bussmann fuse tap) The brown wire (pin 7 from the 12 pin connector) also runs to ground. Last edited by Sh0ty; 01-20-2021 at 04:28 PM.. Reason: formatting |

Has anyone done this retrofit into a pre-lci? I have an 07 e93 335i and I got the parts from a lci e92 and I made the harness(minus the correct size wires) but it isn't working. When I plug it all in the heated wheel doesn't work, and neither do my steering wheel controls. Could this be a bad clockspring? I checked wires they are getting 12v and followed the wiring diagram correctly. Thanks for the help I'm excited for this retrofit.

+1 bad clock spring.
I did this retrofit in my 2007 e91 with a wheel from a 2010 e92, drove with that for 2 years, then after that car was wrecked, took the same wheel and controls with a new airbag to the '09 e91 lci i have now. It is my step-daughter's favorite feature of the car! (with "stiff steering wheel" being her least favorite) There wasn't any change as part of the LCI to those components.

Hi guys, part number question. Early in the thread, part number 32306795568 was specified as the heated steering wheel. If I read realoem.com correctly, 32306795568 is the non-heated steering wheel, and the heated steering wheel is 32306795569. Do I have that right?
The car is a 2007 335xi E90 auto, non M-sport, no paddles. |

I think 32306795568 is a newer substitute for the original un-heated wheel, 32306764546.
If you look at this link https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=32_1565 You see 32306795568 is heated. So I'm thinking they just sub 32306795568 for the non-heated one going forward. |

Hi all I'm new to the forum and I'm not quite sure how it works. Just bought the heated steering wheel, clockspring and switch. I was wondering if the custom cable could be made for me?
