Definitely not! It's hard enough controlling my speed! I used to drive on the autobahn for a few years and I wish I could drive this car on it now

Well it doesn't look too bad, but I wouldn't do it myself as I would be afraid it'll ruin the open and closing mechanic. Fixing a hardtop is $$$! But who cares what everyone thinks, it's your car, customize to your fitting. Btw, welcome!

Great Job! I like the ingenuity. i would like to see it in person to see how it looks, but congrats for being creative. I also like the look of a soft top over a hard top....just like the traditional soft (rag) top look. I looked at a 3 series convertible a few years ago and ended up going with a 911 convertible because of the top....Some things IMO shouldn't change....and a rag top is one of them!

Welcome here, and nice choice on the E93! ;-)

Doing unique mods is a personal thing, so do what you like. I'm guessing most here won't like it, as many of us probably bought this car partly because we love the hardtop look of it. At least I did.

Where did you get your trim wrapped, and how much was that part of the job, if you don't mind me asking?

Too scary to mess with the hardtop at all for me.

I think the car color needs to be something else other than sparkling graphite, black, or black sapphire metallic for it to look good- otherwise it just looks like it's primed or unfinished IMO, but if you like it that's all that matters.

The gloss black shadow line looking trim for the door mouldings etc was a great move however- I think I'm redoing mine that way (currently it is matte black).

Thank you for taking time to share this with the family

The only reason I've held off on getting it done was I figured with all the moving parts, and top folding, the vinyl would peel off over time.

You've not had any issues with that it sounds like. How long have you had it on?

Sounds like the car goes thru some rough winters in NY too...

Oooo Richmond, I thought that place looked familiar, haha

Not really a style that I would personally go for, but still looks pretty good!

Hard to tell in the video but it looks decent, need a few more pictures of it in better lighting to really tell. Don't let anyone on this board bring you down on any of your cosmetic mods. It is all a matter of taste and if you like it then do it. As long as the car doesn't look like a rice rocket you will get people on either side of the fence.

I was willing to try the wrap with whatever color 335 I found, (and I wasn't even interested in a graphite but the timing was right), but actually now I like that it's subtle with the graphite.

Just remember to always have your fingers on the front two window buttons to pull them down anytime you're around cops... Especially in Richmond. Cops there bust cars with front window tint routinely.

Looks great, especially on dark cars, but a PITA. I had the tint on my car for years, trouble free, then got busted twice in a few months, and gave up.

Haha, thanks but unfortunately I'm already very familiar with this issue too.
My interior is light now so the tint doesn't look as dark, so hopefully I'll be ok.

Ok, tried to take better pics today. Please note that the winter tires are on now and I don't love them.
