Cruise control speed settings

Good afternoon all,

I recently got my K+Dcan cable and started to do some coding on my 2007 e90 (318i).

I activated digital speed in the kombi module as wel as the quick display of the set cruise control speed. (Dont know if this was supposed to be off? Its marvelous)

However I notice the following:

When driving on cruise the digital speed is exactly the same as the speed the needle would indicate (80km/h on the needle is also displayed as 80 digital).

However, the set cruise control speed (since I can now actually see where I am setting it at) is always 1Km above my actual speed, regardless of the speed im going.

I set my cruise at 31, car goes 30. Set it at 130, car goes 129.

Somehow this bothers me as I would like to see these numbers mach (ocd wise) as well as just knowing the speed I am setting the cruise at is also the speed I will be going.

Can this be fixed by coding? I have INPA, ISTA+ (D), NSCExpert as wel as tool32.

I have an K+Dcan cable. I cant program anything however.

On a sidenote, can the lower limit of the cruise control also be adjusted?
I believe it only works from 30kmh and up.

There is some variance between mechanical and digital. But I wouldn't pay much mind.

What you really want to do is set the v= to true speed. Then instead of worrying about the difference between the two, you'll KNOW that the needle is wrong and see on V= what your REAL velocity is (for cop reasons, lol).

Hi bluewater,

I did think about that as well, maybe I should give it a try.

I thoughy about something else as wel. Could a new set of tires solve this issue? My tires are almost gone so the diameter would be less of one with new thread. And since larger diameter = more speed..?

This only works though if the speed reading (analog/digital) is just based on tires revolutions, and not something else.
