KW Suspensions or is it "KY" suspensions. Don't bend over...stick with OEM for now unless you have to change out.

yep exactly, from the web this seems to be my solution to slam my ride without sacrificing the ride comfort. the damping can be adjusted too like the V2...

Difference btw KW V2 Vs KW Street Comfort
Here's what i got the reply from KW Germany today.
KW Street Comfort is more comfortable than the KW coilover Variant 2. BUT the Street Comfort has only a lowering from 15-35 mm on the front and 10-30 mm on the rear axle – KW Variant 2 allow a lowering from 30-60 mm on the front and 20-55 mm on the rear axle… that means shocks and springs are different on both applications…

No, it's entirely possible. As long as you've got progressive, or dual stage dampening. But as the piston of the damper gets toward the end of it's travel the "comfort" part will go away quickly.

For progressive rates to work well it would be good to have enough suspension travel to take advantage of them. Otherwise, as you said, the soft part is used quickly and leaving a limited amount of travel for the stiffer portion to deal with, resulting in less compliance and less traction. In an optimal world damping rates would need to be matched to the spring rates, in particular rebound damping, and with progressive rate springs this is impossible. The above mentioned is not too important/relevant for a less enthusiastic driver though. |
