question about H&R lowering springs!
Hey guys, quick question. I recently ordered 18" csl rims and H&R sport springs for my e90. Does anyone know roughly how much it should cost to have the springs installed and whether after install, ill need a 4 wheel allignment?

Yes, 4 wheel alignment would be the best thing to get.

my local shop quoted me $300 for spring install.
I need to do it myself. as soon as the install is done, I will go to dealership, very slow driving, and get a wheel, and suspension allignment.

I paid $220 for spring install. You definitely need a 4 wheel alignment. I recommend you wait about a week to let the springs fully settle, then get the alignment.

Nothing will really happen assuming they dont mess up your alignment too bad in the short period of a week. The only effect I had was my steering wheel was a bit off center.

install springs alignment is out of spec you get alignment immediately after install alignment is within spec springs settle and car is lowered another couple tenths of an inch alignment is out of spec you have to get another alignment - most places guarantee alignment for 6 months so you won't have to pay for a second alignment but that is another hour out of your life you could have back - PITA springs might not settle any more, but most drops I have seen are a little bit lower when compared to the drop right after install. even if you do alignment right away and springs settle, you still might be within spec, or you might not - but why take the chance?

I got mine done at justtires - just make sure that wherever you go they can do alignment on lowered cars, not all places can do it

hi guys:
i just got a set of h&R sport springs for e92 328i coupe from JleviSW.com, and the label on the pakage reads "bmw e90, part number 50490". ok here is the question, does anyone know these springs fit for my e92 328i coupe??? or they accidentally sent me the wrong one? or the h&R springs for e90 are universal for e92 and e91? any info. will be appreciated. |

the part # for the e92 328 is 50490-2 I would recommend you get the correct part #. I can't say for sure how different the springs are, but if H&R went to the trouble to create separate kits for e90 vs. e92 I would get the right one. Vehicle Model Chassis / Drivetrain Notes Approx. Front Lowering Approx. Rear Lowering Part Number 325i, 328i, 330i, Sedan E90 n/a 1.3 1.2 50490 328i Coupe E92 n/a 1.3 1.2 50490-2 325Xi, , 328Xi, 330Xi, Sedan E90 n/a 1.3 1.2 50494 328Xi Coupe E92 n/a 1.3 1.2 50494-2 325Xi Sport Wagon E91 n/a 1.3 1.2 50494-1 328Xi Sport Wagon E91 n/a 1.3 1.2 50494-3 335i Coupe E92 n/a 1.3 1.2 50490-3 335i Sedan E90 n/a 1.3 1.2 50490-4
