Hi,
Are you guys seeing a dramatic power difference with stock location inlets? Or about the same? Which one is better?
I see a lot of bands VRSF, VTT, MMP, TFT, RB. Seems only VRSF, MMP and RB has the stock location inlet. I heard TFT and VTT has the best quality. I can't decide which to pick. Please sharing you opinion.

Air intake box upgrade? Is that the z4 lid on stock btw box?

You'd have to ask the guy who make the silicone intakes if the Z4 intake would be enough

Passenger side flow better and there is less of a delta between the two pipes from what I have read.

It's also easier to work on the driver's side of the car without two big cones there. Easier to run your meth lines, remove the IM or CP, etc.

Whatever you get will be better than stock. Also, ditch the stock airbox if you go with stock style inlets.

To be clear I meant you shouldn't use the OEM intake along with inlets. The main benefit of the inlets it's the removal of negative pressure between the turbos and the filters and the stock airbox is very restrictive.

I personally prefer OEM location due to their ease of install. The relocated inlets do look great but there's quite a bit of work that goes into the relocated inlets in comparison.

You don't really need anything larger than 2.25" until you reach the 600-650whp range which is why we recommend the OEM for most customers.

The standard DCI is inexpensive and works very well. Hard to justify a $300 intake when there aren't gains to be had over the inexpensive solution.

Yep, Tiago is gonna want you to buy VRSF and I'm going to want you to buy VTT but we both agree on everything else. Hard to argue with DCI, OEM location works well (especially at lower/mid power levels), and if you use a stock intake box you're defeating the purpose of purchasing inlets.

I haven't tested it, but if I recall correctly there was a thread on here about it. It might have been BuraQ that tested it and liked it; that said, we just cracked 800 whp and use standard DCI's. They're cheapest and work well, just not quite as pretty to some people. As for us, function is form.

All are reliable, but it's a waste to put that $ and time into inlets and then plug em up with an oem box

What if you have the dinan CAI which basically mates to the bottom of the stock airbox? I would think this increases the flow drastically?

That intake is $600-700.00

If you watch black friday's deals, you can get an AFE CAI for about 1/2 that and it does the exact same thing, which is increase the amount of "cold" air to the turbos.

AFE Momentum GT.

I wouldn't call them cold air intakes. Maybe warm air intakes yes

Cones do produce more HP than a traditional after mkt CAI.

It just depends on what your set up is, how much HP your are trying to make, how much money you are willing to spend, and what your beliefs are regarding HP. Cold Air or Hot Air??
