Well everyone I just got a call back from Schenker UK

And they shipped

They left Miami on the 31.05.10 and will be due in on the 12.06.10

I have the tracking number and the girls at the Schenker office knew about the shipment

All set up now and my forwarder will be notified of the shipment early next week

Yep couple of phone calls sorted it all out

In Alufelgens defence, now that I can see the tracking details, they were booked to leave on the 13.05.10 but got delayed for some unknown reason

Anyway all sorted

That is excellent news! This is the response we received from DB USA:

"Dear Maria:

I am waiting confirmation from the steamship line. I let you know soon.

Thanks.
E. Bellido"

It has been a total NIGHTMARE to deal with DB USA.

I~m glad you got it all sorted out!

Or have a 20.6% anti dump custom duty put on it..

http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsP...yType=document

My forwarder just asked me if these came from China, luckily Taiwan is not included and they are finished off in the States anyway..

No problem

Early next week I will know the cost for the duty / vat & delivery to me. I cant give a precise figure yet as my forwarder is still waiting on the Schenker rates

But to give you an idea - (customs £/$ Rate today = 1.4367)

Total value of order = $4050 ($250 x 12 + $1050 for shipping)
Value of duty = 4.5% of above - £126.85

VAT costs -

Value of shipment (+ duty) = £2,945.81
+
Approx terminals £180.00
+
Haulage approx £180.00
+
Clearance/delivery costs £75.00

= £ 3,380.91

VAT AMOUNT TO BE PAID = £591.64

Duty + Vat + terminal fees + haulage + delivery to me = £1,159.49

Total each = £96.60

This is all approx, and hopefully I can bring it down some more

Just received an email from the forwarder saying they have had the arrival notice

If everything goes smoothly they should be delivered to me on the 17.06.10 & I will try and get the delivered ones out the next / same day

Schenker are just waiting on the US office to confirm if they need original bills of lading or not, 80% of the time they are not needed for shipments from the US, so I am told.

Would be ideal if all collections could be done say Saturday morning?

Next few days I will have the final charges required and send you all a PM & copy of invoice

Schenker walloped me for nearly £300 worth of charges on my individual import!

James, the pallet delivery service you are kindly sending these wheels onto us with. Do we get to know a specific day they will arrive on via this carrier? Will need to take a day off work etc.

Might need to give James a day or two's grace as the wheels will arrive in one almighty package which he needs to separate and then put on a pallet again to ship to us "non collector's"

James, I assume you'll give us all a separate invoice (delivered or non delivered) which we would be expected to pay before you let the wheels out of your warehouse?

Thats no prob, was only going by what he put in his post, that he would try and get them out the same/next day.

No worries either way

Yes, as soon as I have been invoiced by the forwarder I will split the cost and invoice everyone, I am hoping by tomorrow to receive this.
