They loved him- it was like showing an M3 to a 335d owner!

I'm looking at a pic of Chatsworth House- it's not one of your dad's properties, is it Carlos?

Who was the cheeky sod that parked their white van in the lineup?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I took the shot!

I don't let any non-BMs get into any group shots at Donington (in fact I turn them away!), but I can't control any background vehicles in other locations, unfortunately.

I was thinking of getting some road cones, perhaps!

I was thinking about B&Bs & restaurants in & around Bakewell for the night of the meet- anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Viv

At UK3 on the Sunday morning, we took a drive to BAKEWELL for that very reason. When we got there, we parked up, walked into a lovely coffee shop with home made food and cakes. Was there a BAKEWELL tart in sight? No there bloody wasn't!! To think I drove north to Bakewell for nothing...

Was properly fooked off...

Guys,

I wouldn't bother with Stratstone Derby as it's currently being renovated. It's hard enough parking your car there when it's in for service, so I wouldn't even try a meet there.

I'll have a think of where's "do able" near to Donington/M1 J24 and let you know.

I'll also mention this to the guy at work who's expecting his M3 on launch day.... see if he wants to turn up!

Nathan> Is stratstone derby the one with another stratstone dealership on the side with loads of different cars on the forecourt? Its a big dealership complex all in all if so with lots of industrial areas around?

If we get to Donnington and the hairy bikers won't let us in then we could just reconvene at Donnington Park Services at J23a M1.

needforspeed, I'd probably recommend driving 5 minutes further onto the A50 (M1 J24) as there is a shell garage/service station which would be a lot quieter and would offer much more free parking for all those photo's!

However, I've got my thinking cap on and I'll try to find somewhere that fits within a stones throw for the M1.

I wouldn't call it big!

They might of finished the work by then but I do know that when I went in the other week it was a nightmare of shuffling cars!

Shardlow services (A50) are much quieter .. no decent cappucino outlet though
