Dag, interesting reading mate!

You really are into your tuning, If ESS was closer i would prob use them for the 335d

Yours is still dropping off power after 4kishtho isnt it.

What correction percentage did you use to get crank numbers?

Hi Carlos,

I guess most turbo cars including petrols loose some power in the last 1000 rpm or so. Even the twinturbos, 335i and 335d included. Even a Boxter S loose power in the last 500 rpms, but the 911 Carreras doesnt. Think Porsche did it on purpose to keep the Boxter/Cayman below the 911s.

By the way I would really like to have a 335i with a sports exhaust

My 335d made 310bhp at 4800

I would love to see a real 350-360bhp at the flywheel and 290-300 at the wheels.

Carlos, why dont you just ship your ECU to ESS and let them have a go at it?

Saw your dyno, max power at 4150, dropping slightly from around 4450.

Im I wrong???

Dont want to be silly here, just what I could read from the dyno.

Anyway, that twinturbo is really revhappy! From 4450 to 5000 is just a blink of the eye really. Does the revlimiter go past 5000 rpm or does it stop at 4800?

They say 335 hp, but to be honest, if I had a 335d I would leave it standard until someone could promise me more than 25 horsepower extra!

I'm sure they would be able to squeze out more from carlos über-engine

I do think the reason for keeping the hp low is some kind of limitation such as the fuel pump etc.

Dag, with those performance figures you need to invest in a new badge, like I had on mine.
This will really confuse the 330i drivers and Boxster owners.

Cool!

But the four exhausts confuses me!

Did you mod it or is it photoshop?

Did the sound change? Price??? Looks nice!

By the way I have no badge, the E92 doesnt come in 318d, the smallest one is the 120i..... Could be fun!

Looking at the graph right now it makes 310ish bhp at 4k, holds onto that 310ish bhp all the way to 4500 ish and drops slightly from there.
She revs to 5k with ease!

Exhaust was custom made by Powerflow and sounded strange. Quieter than stock (if thats possible ) on a light throttle but at full throttle sounded like a Jet whoosing past at low level.

Theres a short sound clip here.

At least when I visited them they simply asked me what I was looking for performance wise. You could ask them to get alot of top end but keep the low end stock with the drive train in mind. Or just tell me to go wild on it
Or somewhere in between...

I just asked for a map with good performance but still good reliability since its my every day car.

The down time on your end is up to the shipping you choose, you could do overnight and have it all done in a single work week, the reprograming it self takes about one hour.

At least give them a ring and tell them what you're looking for and if they can help you achieve that

ESS only says 335 hp for your car, wait until someone has proof for more power, they dont have a dyno online yet.

yes, seems like 310ish between 4000-4500, thats why BMW put one small and one large turbo!
If you chiptune, that wont be the same anymore, even if its a good one. You will have the largest increase around 3-4000 I guess, and still a good increase all the way up to the limiter, but my guess is a slightly falling powercurve above 4000 rpm.

By the way, the 335i powercurve starts to fall at 5600 rpm, thats 1200 rpm before the limiter.
The 335d at 4400 rpm from the dyno done in Sweden, so my 4450 wasnt far off. Its easier to read those ones, here is a link:

They can pull 220 hp from your 320d, but could be dangerous
200 is safe.

Your right mate, it wasn`t a car it was a tractor. Hence it had to go to make room for a proper engine.
