How to clean 330d EGR??

Hi guys - just curious if anyone has cleaned their egr in an e92 330d? I've recently noticed a sort of flat spot/power loss for like half a second when on just cruising with consistent throttle and research has pointed towards a sticking egr valve... Has anyone else had this and cleaned the egr?

Thanks

Whatever you decide to do, use oven cleaner. It'll make light work of the build up.

Done mine a few weeks back, piece of cake to remove, cleaned with alloy wheel cleaner and looks as good as new, noticed a slight difference, lower revs was a little smoother, defo worth doing. Mine wasn't even that dirty

Basically, remove engine cover, remove intake scoop and hose. Then remove the Throttle body and then the EGR valve. Really easy.

N57 or M57?

the N, remove engine cover, probably wise to disconnect battery as with any job electrical.
remove electrical plug,
remove the two bolts holding it on,
pull up, it'll have an Oring sealing it.
there are two coolant lines going to it, see if you can get it up enough without removing these as they are one use clamps....

i'm going to change mine soon and tried to remove it before but it was stuck and ran out of time.
