I want to "update" my Daten files, because now I just have E89, and I want to be able to code more cars.

I'm downloading the v63 Daten files, to update, should I do it through "BMW Coding Tool" --> "Select SP-Source" --> "Update SP-Daten" ?

Yes i believe so, you will have to set the default folder settings also as per Wildcats guide. (Page 7)

INPA Not Recognizing Ignition on

Hi,

So I have car hooked up using recommending cable and INPA software recognizes battery is on but doesnt recognize ignition on once I turn the car on.

When I try to select my engine type which is a M57 it tells me control unit not found but tells me I have a N57 motor which is not possible as the car is a 335D 2010 and Vin tells me its a M57.

Any ideas?

Tks

Confirm by pulling up E90\Functional Jobs\UIF. Also, have you tried selecting N57 from the menu to see what happens (just out of curiosity)?

Thank you for creating this. I followed the instructions and everything works on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit and a BimmerGeeks Pro K+Dcan cable (link). INPA and NCS Expert work although fault codes are in German. WINKFP worked to load a BimmerLabs tune.

I did run into two issues but the fixes were simple:

1. Windows did not automatically install the drivers for my cable. I found the correct drivers from FTDI (link). BimmerGeeks recommended manually installing the drivers following FTDI instructions (link).

2. I was not able to connect to my transmission. I had to add ENTRY= gs1912,GM6 to the [ROOT_GETRIEBE] section in E90.eng in C:\EC-APPS\INPA\CFGDAT after reading this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1167910

I hope this helps

Hi Guys,

First of al thank you very much for sharing this with the comunity.

It is my first time trying to do this sort of things.
I have installed everything according to instructions and all seems to be properly installed, including the cable, when conneceted to the computer.

The problem I'm having is that I connect to the car and nothing happens....
Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Sorry to anyone who downloaded the install over the past week or so, as it had a bug. New BMW Standard Tools file is now uploaded.

I downloaded the software and after a few evenings of messing with things to get it all sorted, I was able to code my car tonight. I already have ISTA-D and ISTA-P and now have BMW Standard Tools all playing nicely in the same lap top. Thanks for posting the info.
