Some help with shock/spring combo

Hey All,

Just looking for some opinions/recommendations on two setups I'm looking at.

I have a set of Koni Yellows waiting to be installed. This car is my DD and does not see the track. I was thinking of these two combos. I do not really want to lower the car to much.

Shocks/Struts - Koni Yellow
Springs - BMW Performance
Dinan - 10mm Rear Upper Shock Mount kit
BMW E36 - Bump Stops

Or

Shocks/Struts - Koni Yellow
Springs - Sport Springs Spec-R
Dinan - 10mm Rear Upper Shock Mount kit
BMW E36 - Bump Stops (not sure if needed)

I already have front m3 upper/lower control arms. M3 sub frame and differential bushings.

Forget about the e36 bump stops. Not needed. To much bump stop hype on e90post. Also forget about the Dinan rear shock mounts. Get the Monroe 907984 kit about $25 for both sides. Koni yellows are best matched with BMW sport springs and BMP yellow performance springs that will lower it additional 10/15mm. All other combos are literally a waste on a daily driver car.

*what kind diff lock down brace do you have?*

OP: How is your setup? I am about to install the Yellows with stock sport springs.

I am also undecided on the settings for Konis, but given I am up North East so lots snow and frost heave and roads are in general shitty, thinking of going just a 1/4 turn soft front and back.

Figured I get your feedback if you pulled the trigger on your setup

Thanks.

I have been out of pocket for awhile. I just got back on for the first time today. Everything is getting installed on Friday. Before I read the comments I already pulled the trigger.

Shocks/Struts - Koni Yellow
Springs - BMW Performance Yellow Springs
Dinan - 10mm Rear Upper Shock Mount kit
BMW E36 - Bump Stops (front)
BMW Z4 - Bump Stop (rear)
ECS front Sway bar

This will all be installed on Friday.

It's one of the ones that was made by someone on the n54 forum.

Does it have adjustable link? From the subframe to the diff?

No it does not. I have not had any issues with it. I know there are a large group of people using it as well.

Where did you purchase the performance springs separate from the full suspension package?

Koni Yellows with Swift Spec-R is a great combo. There is no need for Dinan shock mounts or E36 bump stops.

What is a good starting point for the front and rear shocks? I have read so many different threads. A lot of people seem to be doing 1.25 turns front and 1 rear.
