Has anyone switched E90 to Silver Interior trim?

Hi,

I'm looking for a 2007/2008 328i sedan, with a silver/black interior. What's this called? I'm having the hardest time finding it. I keep an eye on cars.com, but I don't know what the name is for the metal trim. Aluminum? Or, if anyone even refers to it that way.

Here's an example of what I'm looking for, without the nav/control knob:

I'm in the Seattle area. Fortunately, there's a great market of E90's around. Unfortunately, I have only seen one 328i with black/silver. I'll be perfectly honest. This combo is what I want. To each their own, but it totally makes the car for me.

So how expensive and possible would be it to pull of the 6 or so wood pieces and replace them with silver pieces? Because every other 328i I find has the wood pieces. Anyone done it?

Also considering a 330i, if I could easily paint the silver window top trim. My experience replacing this part on another car tells me that it's not necessarily easy to get these things off the car without wrecking the piece.

If there's anything on the site, please direct me. I can't find it.

Cheers

I did. I went from dark wood trim to aluminum. You can either try to buy the trim off another member or order it from Tischer, or the really cheap way would be to get some brushed aluminum looking vinyl and wrap your wood trim.

I did the same, I swapped the wood trim in my car to brushed aluminum. It's a nice sporty look. Buying the trim new ...

You can also consider the textured "glacier" aluminum trim:

Personally I like the brushed aluminum, it's smooth and cold to the touch.

And as iBoost said you could get the trim off another member. Someone may be willing to swap with you. Your Northwest regional forum:

I have the woodgrain trim and I'm planning on vinyl wrappjng it. It feels like everybody does carbon fiber and I've been trying to come up with something different. 3M makes several brushed metal finishes and I was considering one of those.

iBoost, CJ421 and AndyR83 -

Thanks! I appreciate it. That really opens up my options.

AndyR83 - I googled the carbon fiber and it looks wild. Good luck with the interior. BTW, I found a dark brushed metal look if you haven't already seen it:
