Energy Suppliers

Whos the cheapest?

EDF
British Gas
Southern Electic etc etc

Im with southern electric and this quarter seems to be a shed load more than usual, i havent looked into it but without digging too deep surely theres cheaper? it seems hard to find direct unit costs to compare against each other..from my quick google seach.

thoughts/opinions?

Use the www.uswitch.com website - it'll give you the cheapest suppliers for your house

cheers Tony, i tried that beforehand and checked via the equivalent 'cheapest' suppliers site and the stated savings vary by quite a margin..they dont quite match up! deinitely gonna change tho. i trusted the man knocking at my door from Southern Electric for some reason, think i will go back to EDF now

It is a good site - but as martin lewis himself says, don't forget to factor in the personal-hassle-time-cost to all this malarky.

i.e. don't spend 4 hours of your life messing about researching and filling online forms to save £40 or something daft........

I keep it simple:

British Gas for Gas
UU (Norweb) for leccy
Easy.

The best way to save on your bills is turn the flamin heating down. (women take note - put a jumper on and close the door!)

It's a fact - men are comfy at 19degC, but women like to be at 21degC.

The Thermostat Wars will go on forever!

I even bought a complicated digital timer-stat, so every 4 hours it goes back to down to 19deg automatically - Genius.

something is definitely amiss according to a quick comparisons tho. i do agree that spending hours researching this stuff is a waste of time and effort, thats why i cant be arsed and asked you guys lol thought there must be some provider thats evidently cheaper across the board... but doesnt seem like it

my last quarter was

elec £366
gas £302

and if i remember correctly TWICE as much as usual

Well it has been a bit chilly of late?

It seems to me they all make their pricing and offers so complicated and non-comparable that it's just a way of looking 'competitive' whilst hiding the fact they're all robbing gits charging about the same.
